When looking for new equipment how many people look no further than their brand of choice?

If you have a favourite brand why?

For me I liked cobra gear initially, still do, but this evolved into a liking of all things Titleist.

Why do I like Titleist? Probably because the gear is top-quality, has good resale value, I am comfortable with it and also I have to say, having sexy titleist clubs in a sexy titleist bag does look awesome!

I just like the feel of titleist irons, I dont think I would want to play anything else, perhaps mizuno maybe, after having a couple of sets of titleist. When you hit a perfect strike the feel is nothing short of amazing, and when you thin one, it hurts like hell and makes you practise more and improve.

Funny you should say that. I couldnt get on with the 909 when I tried the range of them before injury.

Had a 907D1 which was also very hit and miss.

Going back to my old Ping G5 in 9* Stiff. Always did me a good turn, wasnt as long as the titleist or indeed the cobras I had tried but accuracy was much better and at the end of the day, I would rather be 20yds back on the fairway than 20 forward and chipping out sideways.

When I fancy a new set of irons it involves me looking at the latest Mizuno irons trying to decide if any are prettier than my current irons if they are x100's thanks very much, if not keep using my current set everyones a winner

To me they are the best looking the best to hit just the best of both worlds

I have switched recently from Mizuno to Taylor Made and now nearly all my clubs are theirs. They do make very forgiving irons and I think their drivers are pretty decent. I do have Vokey wedges though and a Yes putter and a Mizuno 3 wood so I havn't gone all the way!

I like Titleist as well my last 3 sets of irons were Titleist's DTR's, 690mb's and currently 695cbs which i have had for nearly 3 years and are just fantastic.

I would have a Titleist driver but the option of changing driver shafts in my R9 is great although i dont like TM so put a 909 headcover on it

When I started playing it was all TaylorMade, from driver all the way through to putter.
I bought the original TM RAC LT irons when they came out a few years ago, but when I went to change them I didn't put them in for part-ex. In between I've tried Callaway, MD Golf and recently Titleist and each time I changed these clubs the old set went in for part-ex.
I'm glad I never got rid of the LT's as they went back in the bag about a month ago and I'm hitting them pretty well at the moment. They just sit so nicely behind the ball and give me confidence.
I tried the Titleist 909D2 driver, hit it well to start with, but then started going awry so I put my old TM R7 Superquad back in the bag and at the moment is behaving.
It seems that I try other manufacturers for irons and drivers for a while but come back to TM.

I'm a Lynx fan boy and have been since I was about 12 years old and my uncle gave me his old set of Lynx Parallax irons. I upgraded to Lynx Black Cats a few years later and have had the same clubs since!

After "giving up" golf for a while and getting back into it recently, I was disappointed and upset to find out that they'd pretty much gone out of business and that Lynx stuff was hard to find.

So...imagine my excitement when I wander into JJB Sports in Cardiff on Saturday to find two (different) sets of the last incarnation of the Lynx Black Cats for sale! I damn near made an impulse buy. Oh and they had a rather sexy Lynx Stand Bag for sale too! I was in my element.

I know full well I can probably buy a better quality of club, but at the time I bought them, the Black Cats were a top mid-range club. I will probably upgrade one day when I have money and more time to play.

I think trading standards had something to do with that. Apparantly Lynx were making a lot of ladies clubs and passing them off as "mens".
Quite a few people were duped
;)

Always loved ping stuff when i was younger but could never afford it (still cant really) but i always promised myself a set of ping irons eventually. Along came EBAY and sold me a set of ping eye 2 and my ping putter and my ping 4 Under stand bag. Definatley Ping for me!

Bit like choosing a car, some wouldn't be seen dead in a Skoda and must have a Beamer, Merc or Audi etc and always swear it's for performance, quality and the like.... and nothing to do with the badge obviously.

Me, I'm getting older so I'm moving to Ping ..... and driving a Volvo :o :o :D :D

i have been mixed over the years really, now i have mp33 irons by far they are the best i have ever hit. no brand stands out although titleist for me are over priced and not that easy to hit.

all u need is confidence in blades id say, for me they are easier than muscles and cavities
