Brand Loyalty?

but that is a strong generalisation given the fact i tried 8 different sets of irons before buying my TM's this year

Im quickly going of the Footjoy brand,

4 gloves this year already (2 Sciflex and 2 GTX) all 4 seem to have suffered the same issues:

Bad Lasting Velcro
Quickly stretching
Leather going hard and slippy

FJ sports shoes
5 rounds and split on the toe.

I swap and change heres what Im using now..
Ping rapture 10.5 reg
Mizuno 3 wood 15.
TM hybrid 22 degree
TM hybrid 18 degree
Mizuno mx 17 irons
Mizuno mpr wedges 52,56,
Yes callie putter
Srixon soft feel balls

Never had a bag of totally the same kit so never been really brand loyal. Used to be 100% Footjoy for shoes but recent quality concerns voiced on here may change that. Nearest I came to having a bag full of the same brand was with Orka kit when I had the irons, hybrid and driver so if I was going to change to one make I would be tempted to go 100% Orka.

Always on what looks nice and I can hook it first and then Mizuno and Titleist, however, Nike is defo moving up my "I like" list.

At the risk of seeming chavvy, I'm a mostly TM guy. I have had FJ shoes and gloves, but my 120 quid pair of Synr-Gs are dying after about 6 months (Always cleaned and kept on shoe trees), so I am going to try some different brand shoes. Maybe some Adidas ones.

Clothing wise, I prefer Adidas stuff, not because they own Taylormade, but more just to do with the styles etc available. I have a some Nike and Callaway clothing as well, but have found that the Nike Dri-Fit trousers fade after about a dozen washes, whilst my Adidas Climacool (or maybe climalite?) ones haven't faded yet in 6 months or so and the Nike polo shirts seem to be quite short in the body, so they don't stay tucked in.

Gloves, I was a FJ man, but have been converted by the TM R9 glove, which is far far nicer IMO and seems to last longer too.

Ah well, I might have to admit defeat and hack about the course with my mid-20s handicap looking for all the world like a TM staff player!!! :o

I'm a ping man but wouldn't rule out another brand. I'd always try ping first and if I couldn't choose between a couple of makes I'd go with ping. There are certain clubs, like wedges I wouldn't think twice about, I'd go with the ping Tour-W but I recently bought a yonex hybrid so for me it's more about my game than my gear.

Totally can't understand why having a matching set of clubs and bag is chavvy. Its a personal choice. I wouldn't dream of calling anyone anything like that whther they had a matching set of a hotch potch of clubs in a tatty bag (which is probably a truer definition of chavvy).

I've always had a matching bag for my clubs since I started. Its something I like, not because I had any pretence to be like the pros (those that have played with me can vouch for that never happening) and its not to be a wannabe. However having got a bag and clubs it would seem stranger to then put a different towel and umbrella on. Again, it is my income and I'll spend it how I see fit and certainly refute and chavtastic inference
