We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
I am possibly one of the biggest sopranos fans around. I have watched it maybe 5 times right through.
The wire is its equal in many ways. Slow burning up till the bedlam ensues. The relationships between protagonists is equal to and if not better in some respects. The script and dialogue feels credible and never dramatised.
The Wire is VAST and huge in scope and it never treats you like an idiot. It never spells out what's happening and you are rewarded deeply if you follow closely
It is also as funny as the sopranos and the characters (Omar, stringer bell, bubbles etc etc etc) are as real and as human as anything you will see.
I'm n fact the cast list must be in the 100's but there is never a duff one.
Have a look for Charlie brokers reviewing on line. He sums it up better than I ever could
And watch Deadwood assuming you have not. Genuinely it is phenomenal.
Never has there been an anti hero on screen how is as much as a tyrannosaurus as big Tony. However Al swearangen (ian mcShane) is nearly his equal.
