Boring Footjoy!

I'm looking for a new pair of shoes at the moment. Adidas is my shoe of choice, but I thought I'd give FJ's another try (had a pair of AQL's about 3 years ago, but they always started hurting after 12/ 13 holes). Was looking at their designs yesterday, and haven't really found one I like, bar maybe the Myjoys. Am now considering Ecco too, but will probably stick with Adidas..
 
I want some shoes which look exactly like trainers, but can't find any at the moment. A mate of mine bought his in the states some years back. I don't even want them to be water proof, just very light, comfy, and trainerish looking to annoy the stuck up idiots.

Yuk. Would work though.

I don't see why no one makes trainers for golf. You would think it was right up Nike and Addidas's street.
 
I prefer the classic look and think some of the newer modern designs by all manufacturers look really awful and clumpy. Even a lot of "boring" footjoy designs are too fussy for my tastes.

As indicated on another post, next time I buy I'll probably go for some MyJoy Dry Joy Traditional or Contours. Nice clean design and better than the new Dry Joys and Contours from the main range in my view.

As for quality, I currently have 2 pairs of Footjoys (Dry joy and Aqualite) that are a few years old and still going well. :)

However they were both replacements for pairs that gave up after a few weeks. :D

Why don't just get spikes put on to a nice pair of Trainers?

When I was playing cricket, quite a few guys did this and it would work out about the same price as a pair of FJ Myjoys.
You just get a pair of trainers send them off, there are few companies about that do it. They just apply an extra sole that has recesses for spikes, I would imagine you could get them to do soft spikes. I got mine done( or sent off at least) by Gary at the Redbourne Cricket school.

I'd like a mesh pair. Let my feet breathe better in the heat of the summer. None of this goretex stuff either. I'm quite happy with the morning dew soaking my feet. I'm used to it, I wear footjoys.

Adidas do a gazelle version that are mesh and really light. I think they had them in sports direct
 
Myjoy is where its at. Get a shoe specific to you and in whatever colours you want. Not just the top end range you can customise either

MyJoys is where it's at if you live in the US.

The custom options over there are awesome. The ones we get are utterly pish.

Got a pair of these, as they only cost me £35. They are ok, but the leather is pretty poor quality, and they are the first pair of FJ shoes that have ever worn a hole in my foot. Even Classics (which are notoriously hard to break in) haven't done this. To me, £35 is about what they are worth. That said, they do provide a very stable platform to swing from.
