Is it just me or are Footjoy the most boring golf shoe manufacturer in the world?????

There is no doubting the quality and comfort of their shoes however none of them do it for me, I cant remember a single Footjoy shoe thats ever got me thinking WOW, that is a nice looking shoe, I'm going to buy that.

I'm presently looking for a new pair of black golf shoes and I've seen nice offerings from Puma, Ecco, Adidas, Nike but Footjoy's range is so dull and uninspiring!

How can a company who arguably make the best shoes get it so wrong when designing a modern golf shoe????

Is it just me that thinks this about them????

Come on Fj, employ a youthful designer!!!!

i think they have just stuck with a shoe that works i personally wear an adidas adipure black shoe and not only are they the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn but stylish and well priced. Have had two pairs of footjoys and both have looked 'boring but done the job' i think that should be there new slogan !

Agreed some of the designs are a bit samey, but the Myjoys are unique as was the reelfit if memory serves. I think they try to be innovative, but perhaps more on the functionality and colour scheme than design.

Footjoy = Quality? I don't think so. I have worn Ecco shoes now for over four years and they are great. Unfortunately I had to buy a new pair of shoes at short notice last spring and all that was available was FJs. After about three rounds the leather started to split and the whole shoe became "sloppy" as they stretched. They have now ended up in the back of the cupboard.

Craw - you're joking right ????

Why would I be joking? Sad brogue like uninspiring shoes with nothing at all that says "I'm stylish, buy me", very much the 320 of the shoe world, functional but very uninspiring!

The Classics were the best looking shoe they made but now there nothing special, plenty to choose from, Adidas are my shoe of choice just now and have been for a while.

Have to agree, Myjoys are all well and good but it only the colour that changes, the design remains the same. I have moved to other brands because they look a bit different but also because Footjoy are not made to the same standard as a few years ago. The name used to guarantee quality but not anymore.

They're shoes.

They sit under the end of my trouser leg, mainly hidden from my view. I can see the toe when I'm playing. I don't look at the floor when I'm walking. They get muddy after 2 holes at the moment so I don't want to look at them anyway.

They're shoes.

They keep my feet dry and stop me walking on brambles in the rough.

I don't care what they look like.

I'm glad Poulter and Jiminez don't take your view!

Doesn't Poulter wear Footjoy's ? :D

You go onto the Fj site, browse their current range and then look at Poulters specialy designed shoes from any of his recent or historic tournaments and come back to me...............

Think you will find that he wears Icons, and that the new ones for this year include three white and snakeskin ones that look rather like his. I know he also wears the standard white and brown ones.

Personally think they are anything but boring, but just my opinion.

I bought a pair of Nike shoes last year because they "looked good" in the advert.
Put them on and they looked like Herman Munsters boots.
Sold them to a mate of mine after a couple of wears.
They bloody hurt too.
Can't go wrong with FJ's. Confident to order a size 9 from any stockist and know that they will fit perfectly.
And look good(ish).

;) ;)

Just the dilemma of working out which colours are a perfect match for white trousers with a slight yellow tinge around the todger area!
