Bloomin' weather....

Played on Saturday for the first time in a month and it was lovely due to sun and about 7 degrees in the afternoon. We have had very little rain here(for the time of year) and the course is fairly dry as a result.

However we have had loads of hard frosts for the last month and due to get colder from tomorrow, Joanne played 8 holes yesterday and the course was on temps.

I got back from Florida on January 16th and since then it's rained four times for any length (more then 15 mins) during the day here (there's been a fair bit of overnight rain) and we've had three frosty mornings - it's miserable today but no real rain since about 9am.

I know it's winter me the weather's supposed to be dodgy but I've had enough of it now...
If it's not freezing cold and solid ground, it's hacking down with rain on to the frozen ground causing flooded courses...
I've yet to play on a fully open, unfrozen course this year - and I'm a member of two clubs until April!!!!
Getting a bit peeved.........

Seems long this year hu....

Been the same for me, seems like every weekend has beeb frosty so havent got out much. And the times its not frosty its on days that the mrs wants to do something so i cant golf.

Managed one game at gullane during the week, taking the day off work for it.

This weekend looks like it might be ok, about 1 degree through the night. We'll see how it goes.

Good day out there today & looks good again for tomorrow so ended up booking a time for 9.30am. Roll on tomorrow........

Take it you got round OK? - not a lovely day, dampish and chilly - but nothing that would stop golf

I'm working from home 400 yards from first tee

Had a great day thanks, the rain kept off all day and the wind, although cold, was more of a breeze. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were terrific too given the time of the year. Tomorrow is the Winter League at Blairgowrie, but the forecast isn't looking good.

Mid week looks fine, while i am at work, but the weekend looks frosty, so we will be back on temps. Nice. Bring back summer, it was a good thing.

Price we pay for being so inland, Cleveland the other week was eccellent, it's not like we're close enough to drive to any decent links courses either on a regular basis over the winter 

If links courses are too far away as an option in winter, look into which heathland/moorland courses offer a full course in winter.

great day here too, might go over and hit some balls. not played much so far this month(Feb) only had 4 games;)

4 games is not that bad, some of the guys on here don't seem to have managed to get a game yet.

Parkland courses are good in the summer but you can't beat links golf for all year round playability, no more golf for me till Friday.

very true, walked across the local parkland course by my house the other day and it was like a paddy field and we havn't had that much rain.

Links golf is def the most playable option for year round golf

Weather pretty good today - Course drying out lovely , cut and ironed the greens this morning , running lovely.

You can get year round golf at my place and it's a parkland. Just got to have good drainage and good greenstaff
