Blackmoor,

Just to echo every ones thanks to the people that organnised the day, sorry to my playing partners Dave, Garham, and Ian for having to put up with John Daleys trousers

Apologies to Rick G for threatening to push him off the clubhouse balcony for chatting up my daughter. Once I realised it was my wife you were making a date with it was fine. :D

Thanks to Richart and Smiffy for organising an amazing day.

Thanks to Paul, Steve and Geoff for the company. Sorry I could not stay for dinner, but after coming in at 8pm and having the drive home, I needed my beauty sleep :p before getting up at 5am for work.

If it's planned again for next year I will make sure I take the extra days leave!!

Rich, I cant believe you didn't do it. If it wasn't for the fact the travel lodge at liphook was a good few hundred yards from the a3 he could have ended up on it

After a good night's sleep (and a kip at lunchtime) I'm still revelling in the memories.

Top course, superb organisation, great people, what more can anybody ask for? A huge thanks to ALL invovled and well played to all the prize winners,

As well as PNW's apparently fatted chip-in on 18, Swinger's ball striking was a joy to behold, he even threw in a few fats to show he was human after all.

The condition of the course was excellent and greens were first class, although I putted like a complete ****.
I think the problem was that I spent a few minutes honing my stroke on the practice green and then took that pace onto the first green, I never recovered my composure or confidence after my first putt flew 20 feet by. :o :o

Shot of the day chosen by Club Captain : PN Wokingham chip in on the 18th. Many thanks to Keith our Captain for giving Paul a bottle of bubbly out of his own pocket.

Paul your chip in was the golden moment, and it was a huge cheer. Still think you fatted it, and technically I was right that you would not keep it on the green, as finishing in the hole, it was below the green. :D
Rich - please pass on my personal thanks to Keith - a very nice gesture and completely unexpected - I think I was on a high for a couple of hours after that shot. As for the jig.. no comment, and certainly no planning - me to dancing is like a chocolate tee pot to hot water! :)

The one thing I have just remembered is anticipation of seeing some pictures of the day - there is a certain photo that could front a caption competition - not sure if that is something the magazine might want to start - this one could highlight the physical prowess of us great athletes!!! over to you Bob :o :D

Think i know the one you mean, but at the moment it is being held for blackmail purposes. :D

The highlight of my day was during the meal, I was gleefully wolfing down the grub sitting with Smiffy, Homer and co when a dashing handsome man approaches and offers to buy me a drink. I accept with a fluttering of my eyelashes and he busily strides off to fetch me my coke.

I turn to Smiffy and say "Who was that?"

:D

we need another big meet so I can get the bloody time off in advance :)

Glad you all had a cracker, after playing Beau and the response from everyone at this one the future is bright for all us on the GM Forums :)

Sitting with Smiffy and Co you didn't have much competition though. :D

You forgot the word 'young'. You promised you would put young in the sentence.

I'd like to echo the comments made so far. The course was fantastic and I had a great day. (despite my many dubious shots)

Thanks to Rich, Smiffy, TXL and family for making the day possible and as great as it was. It was a nice way to spend a Monday!

Thanks also to Ezprophet, Region3 and zznuffz for the great company. Region3's afternoon round was very impressive, especially given the greenkeeper had decided to place every pin in the hardest spots!

Ahh so you did get home OK, I was going to check you did but I did not have your mobile number.

Glad you found a train :D

What a day - and after the heat of Sunday at teh Lakes, and teh signs of a repeat, being told off for having my shirt not tucked in on the tee was the sole and only reason i drove into teh ditch at the first ;)

Great company from RichC, Geoff and of course Pieman

It was an education just watching Pieman at work ... iahev never seen such a complete and utter demolition of a ham buffet !!! - he smacks a blooin good ball too :)

RichC hit some bloody good shots as well.

i for my part, got my moneysworth hunting for adders in the rough, heather, trees, and sand following numerous shank-alikes. But thankfully the short irons and putter were on form to keep me honest.

Really good company, really good course, really good staff who worked hard from early to late.

Must admit, i thought PNWokingham's best efforts at holing out was the 3 desserts he polished off ;) !!!

Did anyone see an Adder?

I think it's a ploy to get us to not look for balls so the Greenkeepers can go round 1st thing in the morning scooping up all the leftovers........

Nope, but didn't stop me looking very closely :D

I was in the stuff half the day as well and never saw one, even though I was looking.

Paul or Simon (can't remember who) thought there was one on the path down from the 18th tee, but I'm 90% sure it was just a slow worm.

I went to parts of the course no man had been before during the round. The most I saw was a squirrel doing a runner with a banana skin. zznuffz (Paul) saw a snake on the 18th but I didn't have the strength to walk back up the hill to see it!
