Blackmoor,

Did anyone see an Adder?

I think it's a ploy to get us to not look for balls so the Greenkeepers can go round 1st thing in the morning scooping up all the leftovers........

I think with the noise we were making, especially after Paul's chip in, they will have moved out of the area. :D :D

I have a copy of the pictures that were taken by Richard's daughter. I will post a good selection on here in a couple of days, sorry for the delay, but I have been, and will be, rather busy - on the course! :)

My partner and I managed to win our 4BBB match this evening and now I am getting a few things sorted ready for 36 holes at The Berkshire tomorrow so the pictures will have to wait until Thursday :(

PNWokingham, I do have a picture of your infamous chip/duff that I will make available to you for a small? fee :)

Rickg had a second round at Camberley today whilst I played my match, he played off the championship tees against my son. I understand that Rick managed to throw it away on the last. There were mutterings heard at the dinner table tonight along the lines of "Dad, I hit my 3 iron past one of his best drives!" and "he hit driver 340 yards into the wind!"

Thanks Anthony - got to be worth a pint on Saturday - let us know about your son? Good luck today.

Hidden hole booby prize (holes 4,6,7,12,18) with 1 point
: Smiffy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (took us ages to work out the holes to make sure he 'won' !)

I'm glad that you'd remembered I'd said I fancied that Ping cap Rich.... :D :D :D :D

Came out the traps like a whippet during the AM round. Despite hitting a somewhat "slappy" 4 iron off the first, managed to par it for 3 points. Parred the 2nd as well (3 wood wedge) and after finding the heather off the 3rd (too greedy trying to cut off the corner on the right hand side and found the heather) managed to secure another 2 points with a bogey 5, so 8 points after 3 holes and cooking on gas. Then played 4 and 5 like a total knob and only took 1 point off of them. (Blobbed 5 both morning and afternoon, I hate that hole :()
Made a really good par at 6 after my tee shot hit the green but then rolled all the way back down the green and ended up in the dip in front. I was a bit annoyed but managed to hit a lovely chip up to a few inches and make the 3. How come that bloody hole is SI15?????
Made a great par up 7 despite having a horror 1st putt from down the bottom of the slope. That was a terrible putt to have to face! Cocked up 8 by being greedy again and not getting out of the rough down the right hand side properly so only got 1 point there, but hit a lovely 7 iron to 9 to within a few feet and secured par for another 2 points.
17 points with 1 blob and two 1 pointers. Really pleased with the way I played the other 6 holes though.
Blimey. That sounded like Homers blog.
:o :o :o :o :o :o

Well, what can I say that hasn't been said already?
Just a huge thank you to all those who helped organising the trip. and all those who attended.
A special thanks to Richart and his HID (Vicky) fot their hospitality for the duration....lovely :)

Apologies has to go to my playing partners for the first 2 days, my golf wasn't a thing of beauty and to those who witnessed my sh*nk and duff at Blackmoor, let that be a lesson what can happen if you dabble with S&T ;)
Thankfully, I rememberd how to play golf at Camberley on the last day, shooting a slightly disappointing 36 points, with a double bogey on the 2nd and the last. Good golf from Jammy too with 38 points

Now the dilemma......

No......... I promised I wouldn't publish the pic

Finally, good luck to all the new V-Easy owners, any problems, drop me a PM. Just a shame I didn't take more as half the Dorset golf team wanted one :D

Hope you told them to be wary of using it with a PW in hand :o

Oh and just post the picture ya big tart!

I know the word Blackmore is becoming a little tedious to a few so this will be brief.

Great 3 days of golf, organizers, playing partners, and hosts. Thank you. :D

After a 14 hour work day yesterday I just about have the energy to add to the superlatives.

Course - punishing, but fair, great condition
Organisation - first class all round, many thanks to the time and effort put in by many to make the day run smoothly
Company - JammyD and Justone gave me a lesson on driving the ball. FullThrottle is a great chap and hit some nice shots.....with a few shockers as well :o :D :D
Really enjoyed the company and we had a laugh all the way round.
The Golf - meh
Putting - clumsy....lets leave it at that

Look forward to next year.

Add my thanks to the deserved large pile already given to those responsible for organising what (despite my standard of golf) was a great day.

Thanks to Rob, Tony and Bob for their patience and support - I told you 28 wasn't a typo, despite tee shot on the 1st. The " craic was mighty", Bob's ability to nail his 1 iron was impressive and his performance on the 12th showed me that I too play shots like a pro. :D

Finally huge commiserations to Imurg, if he'd scored as well the afternoon as he must have done carrying me in the morning he'd have stormed to a Rory'esq victory. ;)

Thanks to all for the day.

BIG thanks to my playing partners.... Half_Throttle, Jammy'noisybottom'Dodger and Clumsy_Putt.

Highlights were JammyD making a thong outta his boxer shorts, setting fire to Snelly's golfball... and the banter of course ;)

I meant to ask you before I left on Monday. What ever became of my old Black Cats?

Righto just managed to finally get my internet connection sorted.

Many thanks to Richart and all the organisers of not just Blackmoor but all 3 days golf. A fine course is Blackmoor with lovely greens and lush fairways that are excellent for walking on. Congrats to all those who 'robbed'.... sorry won the prizes. Commiserations to Homer and myself who managed a meagre 13 points between us in the morning ( I had 12 on my own ;))

Thanks to the 3 amigos who I got lumbered with :D justone (bubba the firestarter), snaphookedwedge (bazookaputter) and fullthrottle (sorry i'm late). I cant think we stopped smiling or laughing all day (mostly at our own inadequacies) I hope Snellys ball has recovered from the cremation we gave it. A super halfway house that provided a cornetto washed down with a bottle of San Miguel.

I have to say after literally melting around Bearwood on Sunday I never thought my everso sore creamcrackers would make another step. A good rub down and 'lubeing' up for the night sorted that out though ;)

Special mention to Moonrakers outfit , I thought Richart had booked a clown for the after dinner entertainment :)

Heres to next years meet where-ever it may be. It's amazing just how well a bunch of strangers get on with each other.

Lucky B******rds - when we finally arrived ?stumbled/staggered op that 9th, after spending 8 holes dreaming of a magnum to put the misery of chafing to the side for just one small moment, to be told "sorry, love we've sold out of ice creams, would you like a mars bar or a sausage roll instead ..." ..... in a Heatwave !!!!

Went down quite as well a quote with me, as "would you mind tucking your shirt into your shorts " in the heatwave on the 1st tee.
:)
