Blackmoor,

Was it just me, or were the greens not as quick as I was expecting? Lovely to putt on, very true, but not stupidly fast. A bit like Camberley on the Sunday. A good pace for me really.

I did actually think they would be quicker having been given the big up before the day, but they were still quick enough to cause me alot of trouble; similar to Beau Desert I'd have said. The 5th was particularly ridiculous. Anything left of the hole on that green needed to hit the hole flush or it ended up at least 10 feet past it.

The fact they were still that true and slick having been hollowed is a credit to the Greenkeeping staff. But damn them to hell for the pin placements!

Another cracking GM meet, thanks to Richart and co. for organising .You did a sterling job and even got the weather right as well.

Playing company as usual with these meets was first class, with Leftie, Losttheplot and Funkyfred.

Look forward to going back to Blackmoor again but will leave the big stick at home next time. :o

Great day at Blackmoor.

Must say thanks to Richart, Smiffy and TXL and the girls for running and sorting the day out. Very well organised.

Many thanks to my playing partners for the day PNWokingham, Crow and Golfmmad. Very good company, had a lot of fun out there. I still owe Chris 50p I believe.
Lots of good stuff between us and a few ones to forget too!!

Paul taught me alot on the day about making scores from interesting positions. Well scrambled mate. Many thanks also for saying some nice things about my game the £10 is in the post, I sure the guys I played with the day before (TXL, Murph and Richart) will be surprised to hear anything like this!!

Still trying to get out some of the mental images that RickG put in my head on Sunday night in the Liphook curry house!

Always a nice plus to walk away with some prizes too, I had a putt on the last to tie for the lead then another one to come 2nd before finally tapping in to finish 3rd. Bit of an anti climax after winning longest drive on the same hole!! Even more of an anti climax after the crowd on the balcony had seen Paul (PNWokingham) chip in from by the fence for what truly deserved shot of the day.

Great to meet lots of guys from the forum and looking forward to making another meet soon.

Cheers everyone.

I didn't do much putting at Camberley so can't comment on this but the greens at Blackmoor were superb, really good pace.

There were some scary putts out there at times though and could easily take a few years off your life while adding shots to the score.

Great day out. Beautiful course and greens that had more speed and guile than I could cope with on a first visit (or several more I should think). Plenty quick enough for my suspect stroke and they could make you look foolish. Can't believe I won a prize for hitting the tough 15th and was only one of two in the whole field to get to the green and hold it. 5 wood - simples.

Had a great fourball and it was nip and tuck for the cash. Thought I'd done enough with a birdie 2 at the 17th but Smiffy's mate Alan made a good 5 down the last to my 6 to tie. Cracking fun and great to see so many old faces and a lot of new ones. Region 3 was as good at Blackmoor as he had been 12 months before at Ascot and deserved the win. The longest drive was obscene although having seen the drives being hit at Camberley as a pre-cursor no surprise really.

Had a whale of a time at Camberley too. Thanks to the three guys who put up with Homer and his inability to refer to a course planner especially when there is hidden water. Loved the whole two days and thanks to everyone who organised everything, I played with and had a laugh or two with.

Knob! I'd just managed to forget about that

Pleasure to meet you mate. Good craic.

:D
Had to be said!

It was very nice to meet you too, hope to see you and the rest of the guys again soon.

Camberley's were a little slow due to them needing a cut but were true and in excellent condition.
I thought Blackmoor's greens were a good pace, I wouldn't say rapid but certainly quite quick. Perfect pace is something I'd say. :)

As for the Liphook Curry House... What goes on tour... Stays on tour!! :) :)

All in all a superb 2 days golf, excellent venues and excellent company.

If you haven't been on a GM Forum Meet before then I'd highly recommend it. Everyones a complete knob so you just fit right in! ;)

Morning everyone, ive finally woken after getting in at 12.30 after nearly falling asleep at the wheel 3 times.
Firstly a great thankyou to Rich,Smiffy,Txl and the rest of the crew,a superbly organised event.
Fantastic course, good food, great company and i cant wait for the next one.
To my partners for the day,Rob2,coolhand,Bob4puttmcarthur,you were great company and a pleasure to play golf with.
Unlike Rob2 i wont take what happened on the course to the grave.
Highlight for me was Bobv-easy 4 putting from 12 feet, and then shanking his 154 yard tee shot and then duffing his second into the gorse in front of two more four balls, pure genius.
However definately a top guy and very helpfull.
No tips on my short backswing after i nailed one past his drive on the 3rd with my 3 wood,ha,ha.
Rob2 great guy,and plays very good golf, however i think the heat got to him and to Luke how you kept it under control we will never know, however you won 2 prizes and Rob you won 1,well done.
Myself i blew it 27 points after 12 holes,i cant write no more still upset.lol  :) :) :) :) :)

Great day and really well organised - thanks to everyone involved (and apologies for being late; bloody M25!)

Thanks to Geoff, Steve and Richard for their company - very enjoyable and we played the occasional good shot or two!!

Also good to see some familiar faces and meet some new forum members.

Definitely would be up for next year.

OK folks, the full results you have all been waiting for. I will let Richart add the full list of prizes :)
