managed to get a real good deal because a mate who had been desperate to get his hands one, had his 40th birthday. His dad knew about Betty's and so got him one, and the same night his wife presented him with the same club. Not bad going as you can only get them from 1 place in the UK. He obviously uses the wifes pressy and hid his dads in the garage. I had to offer to help him out

Anyway I didn't know too much about Bettinardi, except for being involved in developing the early Scotty Cameron's, then designing Mizuno's range, even having his own name on some of the Mizzy'z. Done a lot with Ben Hogan and the Little Ben, Big Ben range as well as doing his own thing. Not been able to try it out yet, but interested to hear about anybody's experiences with Betty's.

Bettinardis are very good putters, with the caveat that applies to all putters - providing the model design and specs suit you. They have a studio in Chicago where you can get fitted for a putter. Luke Donald used to use one of the Tour putters. They don't have the advertising budget of Cameron or Odyssey so don't get as much attention as those.

Yes I had a dig around to find that he refuses to do a Scotty who's a marketing genious, as he wants to keep everything in the States, and not outsource to the Far East and losing quality. Serious cash for he's stuff though and looks like mine is the entry level at c£230 in the UK and going up to over a grand, high end stuff.

The quality though is stunning and the honeycombed milled face is awesome. I tried it on the carpet which was running at 17 and have to say it rolls true and the balance is brilliant. Putters though are a personal thing so may not be able to get to grips with it, but first look is great so far.

I have 1 of the Mizuno range he designed a few years back and I love it, really great feel of the face and a real classic look, I find the lines are smoother than the Scotty's and that suits my eye better.

I had to get the grip changed last year as I'd worn the original grip out and could not get another Bettinardi grip for love nor money so had to put a PING 1 on. I'd have much preffered to have gotten a proper Betty one though.

They are very nice and are top quality. I have a DASS made for a Tour player and it is a lovely putter indeed. I know a few people who deal with Bettis in the US so if you are looking for anything special, let me know.

Thanks Ethan always good to know. I was speaking to a club fitter today about it, because if I like the putter I will need it fitting to me, and that means a bit shorter. He has a contact who can supply him with any Betty grip including the original one for the BB25, plus he can get a replacement shaft because it's a 'trigger grip' so you just can't chop it down without losing the lines of the shaft.

I bought myself a Bettinardi BC3 for my 40th a couple of years ago. Lovely putter. It's me that's not!!

I find judging distance with the milled face a lot easier than my old putter with a face insert.

I fancied a Bettinardi for ages and some very kind soul on here let me know of NB's selling them off in Dundee. A phone call later and it was mine.

Hacker thats a great looking club. I tried using mine last night indoors, and found it easy. That'll be different this weekend in the real world I bet. I found I could hit another ball every time from around 10 feet, which in theory should mean never missing anything from within 10 foot again
