Best start to a round?

Tend agree that a good start is usually a bad omen for me. Whenever I've birdied the first I inevitably make a mess of either the 2nd or 3rd.

Having said that a few years back I did play the front 9 at Hunstanton whilst on holiday there in 1 under after 3 putting the first, then the wind got up and I came home in 10 over

Our first four holes are a pretty tough start with a card and pencil and so I take 8 points or level with my handicap as a good barometer. Starting double, double as I have done in the last two events probably isn't ideal. I have been -1 gross after four and reality and shock has set in and I've made a partial mess of the par 5 fifth and a total cock up on the sixth to resume normal service

A few weeks ago, the last medal i played in . . . 5 pars on the bounce and finished the front nine 3 over par , cue 13 over on the back nine with a quad bogey and a couple of trebles. Level for my handicap but what could have been !!!!!!!

Had four birdies to start a round and then missed a 10 footer at the next. Only once been -5 during a round and that was for one hole. Have birdied the last to be -5 though.

Before had my heart problem in a medal started with six stright pars birdie 7 and 8 par 9 these holes include S.I one and three which I pared.

So was two under for the front nine, finished 9 over you've just got to laugh.

My best start to a round was Birdie Birdie Par Birdie to be 3 under after four. continued on that round with 9 more pars before another birdie and four pars to finish. Fairly pleased witha bogeyless 68 round my track.
