Best round in ages........89

4 pars 12 bogeys 1 double 1 triple.....played 16/17 holes well in same game.....waited 18 months for it to click into place like that..........shot 89......only some forward tees/all winter greens.....but the winter greens are rubbish and hard to play.....still i'm ecstatic with my round.....now IF ONLY I could repeat it twice in a row

Well done off 25 as well must be at least 4 under your Handicap. Good isn't it when it all comes together. My best round was 78 the following round I shot 93!!! Work out where you saved your shots and focus on doing the same again.

Looks like the key was, keeping the Double bogeys, and nasty triples off card

Canny track Garesfield, up and down a bit, but very nice in summer

I've managed a few sub 90 rounds recently but that has been on our smaller winter course (par 64), so doesn't really feel the same!!!

Looking forward to the full course opening again!!

My last 4 rounds have been 85, 94, 87 and a 98 and I'm well chuffed as I'd been struggling to break 100 before that cause i was playing so bad.

thanks mate.i reckon (going by course par 72 ) that round was 8 shots better than my hcap.I am not considering it my best round as it was forward tees/winter greens and I have broke 90 before under those circs......93 is my best at my course under normal circs

Cheers moogie.....ive broke 90 before on forward tees/winter greens but I still dont consider it a PB for me thats when normal tees/greens are on so thats a 93 for me.....still I knew I put in a great round because generally i can put in say 12 decent/good holes in at best but to do 16/17 was outstanding for my hcap,so well pleased.
If you ever fancy a game at Garesfield give me a shout

No worries. Confidence is a lot in this game. Keep it going and watch the scores tumble. I was at an all time low once as I was hitting sherman tanks all the time. Once my coach and I sorted it, it was still a while before my confidence returned. Go into your next round in the same frame of round and you should be fine.
