I went out on the lyndoch fully wrapped up today with my Sunderland waterproof suit and loved it, bone dry when I was finished apart from my head where my Taylormade Cap was soaked through. I'm thinking of buying a bucket style waterproof hat and I'm wondering what the best one is ?

Any recommendations?

MadAdey got a Galvin Green one at Woodall earlier in the year. It worked well for him and kept whoever was stood near him dry too.

I have a Lowe Mountain Cap you can buy them in all good outdoor shops, waterproof, fleece lined and toasty on my baldy napper!

Cheers guys I've just pipped for a sunderland one off eBay hopefully it will keep the rain off my neck.

good question, fed up of rain doon the back of the neck, or pouring off the cap onto the ball when putting.

are bucket jobs the only option?

Won't stop the drip from hat onto/near ball when putting but will tend to keep rain from back of neck. Cross jackets have an elasticated collar that does a great job in that department - and GG ones have improved, in this regard, recently too I believe.

I have a Goretex 'flaps down over ears' cap that has served me wll in bad rain.

iv seen ping, galvin green and under armour waterproof skip caps, under armour/ping one is about £15 from ebay. galvin green is about £30 i think, galvin green buckets are about £40 odds,

Follow this link, I think this is the best hat money can buy. It is not hte cheapest but it will stop any rain from running down the back of your neck.

I got a Callaway bucket hat from fleabay for about a fiver. I wear gigs to play golf and it does just as well as a cap. My head after tuesday was nice and dry although I had to wring out my trousers and socks.
