Best place to get custom fit NW

I have the day off next Monday and am looking to get custom fit for a gap wedge.

I only have a PW 45 and a SW 55 at the moment, really feel I need something in between.

Just wondered where would be best to go, at the moment it looks like Clubhouse golf in Manchester, they have a golf simulator etc, and some very good deals.

Or could go to Direct Golf on the Wirral?

Any experiences of the two above, or any other recomendations?

Thought about Manchester performance golf centre at chorlton golf club, not actually tried yet but very helpful when I enquired about a fitting from Santa!

Gareth Benson golf in astley, just off the east Lancs... Cracking range and fitting facilities....might be worth a look if its nearby..

North manchester GC have a good fitting center. But becareful there are two north manchester GC's. Look on internet first to get the right one.

cant help you but just a word of caution, DON'T use a simulator, always get CF where you can see the flight of the ball

Seconded here, they have a golf simulator, but then you can hit a few on the range also, to see the ball flight properly.

American Golf do custom fitting for free, are they not recommended?

Clubhouse golf simulator can only read forward motion and speed, it can not read the spin rates, or sideward deveation of the ball. They do great deals, just not the best kit to fit you to them deals.

TourX golf in Warrington is a different story, several pro's get fitted there and Nick who owns it has built clubs for Berhard Langer, John Daly, Tom Watson amonst many. Well worth it.

Another vote for True Fit and Tour X.

Nick at Tour X will fit your clubs better and has an amazing set up in Warrington. He's used to be on tour working for Adams and you have to book a slot to go there. Gary Wolstenhome was there last week using the facilities. True fit will have a bigger selection though.
