What is the best way to go about booking golf breaks.

Which websites are the best place to look?

There are three of us from Yorkshire and one from Worthing playing so we're looking for somewhere north of London probably.

Are there any clubs in that region people can recommend.

We're looking at an overnight stay with two or three rounds.

Cheers guys

I've used Golfbreaks.com in the past. Usually for early season special offers and have found it to be good. Recently though the group I play with have taken to organising our weekend away by ourselves. It has worked out slightly more cost effective for us and we havebeen able to play the courses we want to play.

Best of luck organising things for next year.

We've done trips via Golfbreaks and independently - if you're going in this country and are a small group it's six and half-a dozen for the same venue. Might be worth the hassle of going independent for a big group or with particular requirements not met by a 'package'.
I assumed it would be chepaer to book direct (no 'commision' to the middle man) but there's often no difference. (Presumably a middle man who brings a lot of busineess negotiates a discount - everything cancels out).

north of London covers a big region and a lot of clubs. narrow it down a bit?
aye, didn't word that too well did I!!!

there are three of us travelling down from Yorkshire and one up from Worthing so we want the lad on his own not to be driving as far as the three of us who can split the driving.

I should probably have put 'just' north of London!!!

Not sure about the websites, but I can recommend Hanbury Manor, I've played there and it was very good, nice hotel as well.

Cheers, Colin.
