I played a 3 handicapper one day. I was playing reasonably well but on about the sixth hole I hit an awful shot that went straight right out of bounds. I asked him what did i do wrong there. His responce
'why do you want to know? Are you planning on doing it again?'
Effectively he was saying stop concentrating on the negatives. remember what you did when you hit a good shot and forget what you did when you hit a bad one.
My game and my enjoyment of it has improved dramatically since I started to play to that ethos.
Has anyone else recieved any really memorable pearls of wisdom?
