Best non-spinny golf ball

Had a driver fitting and I was creating a hell of a lot of spin that's all.

Well the same fitting was giving me 4200 with some drivers and 2100 with others.
The numbers with the lower spin were great, so I figured the lower the better.

I assume you finally went with one of the drivers that gave you 2100 rpm spin? I wouldn't necessarily count that as "a hell of a lot of spin".
That's already quite low (for an amateur) and your strike and impact location on the face will make a much bigger difference to your spin rate than a ball change ever could.

If I have this right (thought you were looking for a non spinny ball) your actually looking for a decent ball that spins around the greens and on approaches to greens but with less side spin of the driver? I understood from your original post that you wanted as little spin altogether - hence all the answers directing you to 2 piece hard distance balls.

In my opinion (if your talking about a decent tour ball) there is little between any of them. All the top OEM''s are making good balls now where they all claim to maximise distance of the tee, with as little side spin as possible and the spin is there when you need it (approaching greens). As tour balls go I could easily play most of them with no notable difference in any part of my game.

That being said I play chrome soft. Price is the biggest factor. In sales can be picked up for £20 a dozen. (I found them 2 weeks ago for £15 and stocked up- that price ended quickly). It is as good as the very top end balls. Great of driver and irons and spin on and around the greens. I play supersoft in winter

I have used pro v1x recently as I was given a sleeve and then I have been using the old nike RZN black tour balls (currently £20 a dozen @ online golf )
the flight and spin of the nike is less. Much more penetrating and quite a lot less spin round the greens.

Probably a little harder than most other premium tour balls though but not much.

I'm getting worried, when I played in the Foursomes with my 7 handicap partner we played with his Pro V1x all the round and I have to say, I did notice a difference, especially off my long irons and more so around the greens chipping.

Yesterday I switched my ball on the 12th tee from my usual Chrome Soft to an almost brand new standard Pro V1 which I found and then parred 5 of the remaining 7 holes in regulation and only just missed the putts on the remaining 2 holes for a bogey amassing 20 points from just those last 7 holes!

Hmm, have I got to start looking at deals on the Pro V1 or 1x, I'm not sure what the main difference is between them and at my level whether I'd notice such a difference, but compared to what I thought was my ball of choice, being the Chrome Soft, I've now had a couple of stonking rounds & holes with the Pro V's, so I'm using a sleeve (well 1 ball hopefully) of Pro V1's today which I won recently and see what happens :mmm:

I know a couple of playing partners who struggle with side spin (slicing ect) use the srixon distance and find them great long straight and not too bad feel wise .

About £30.00 a dozen.
What's to say you wouldn't have finished like that with the Chrome Soft Fishy????
You just hit a hot streak

The difference I meant was between the Pro V1 & 1x.

I know it can all be in the head and just changing the ball could have influenced something no different to if I had changed to a Pinnacle  but I did notice a stark difference in feel, especially on some of my approach shots into the green and the ball held the greens great!

Have changed from Prov1x to Vice Pro after trying both on a launch monitor. Drives now are much straighter and have adjusted to less spin around the greens by using my gap wedge to run the ball in .At £1.79 a ball for 60 it's a bargain 😃

I had my best round of 3 over gross yesterday using a pinnacle gold!!! Wouldn't fancy it in the summer mind!

Well I played with my Pro V1 today and we came just outside the prizes with a 68 in the Greensome but our pp's were the winners with 65.6 🏌
