Best club you ever had?

With me at the moment it has to be my Wilson Staff FWC 5 wood...It has a stiff Grafalloy Nanotech shaft and its probably the One club in my bag you'd have to prise from my cold dead hands to get it from me

I picked it up 2 years ago for 20 euro and the confidence i have had in it from the first ime i hit it is huge.
In todays terms im not sure how forgiving it is but i use this when im about 195-210 mtrs out...
iIt hits as good out of the rough off the tee or off the deck and i hit it as straight as a die!

So if these clubs were the best club you ever had. Where are they now?

Traded in because of the lure of the shiny stuff, cf session lead to a new club?

I just wonder why if it was so good, why change?

Same reason I changed most of my clubs when I was starting out. I thought I was better than I was, I was stupid, I believed all the manufacturer spiel and I thought I could buy a better game and so I changed clubs whenever I went through a bad patch.Always the fault of the club and never me. Basically I was far too easily lured by new shiny things.

I had a Callaway Steelhead 3-wood that got used all the time. Wasnt much of driver back then with my 975D so used to tee off a lot with my 3w. Boy could I get that beauty out there , par 5's I used to eat for breaky going in with this club.

Gave up the game and when I started again I just thought it was old technology so moved it onto someone who needed it more than I did. I've probably hit 2 decent 3-woods in the 2 years i've been back playing :(

Got rid of my steelhead+ as it seemed antiquated against the bigger head of the modern fairway wood and I allowed myself to be told that newer was better in terms of technology. Wish I'd kept it but hey ho

Mine was a Callaway ERC II driver before they banned it!!

Won loads of long drive competitions with that one.
Even duffed shots went miles.

Mine was a Warbird 3 wood I bought 15 years ago and in a fit of stoopidity sold it to my mate who plays off 3 and still uses it.

I also remember having a Slazenger 10 iron 25 years ago and it was a wand. That as when I took my first divot.

My current Taylormade rescue club.

That's probably not current anymore..... :D :D

True :), in fact I think there have been 4 or 5 models since I got mine.
But it's a hell of a club & won't be changed for a while.

Callaway Steelhead 4 wood with firm shaft. For many years my go to club for tight tee shots and great for approaches to our long par 4s. Went like a bomb, but over time my swing slowed down and I felt I needed a softer shaft so it was relegated to the reserves then traded on. No regrets though, replacement Steelhead III is also a great club.

Other favourite is my Odyssey Dual Force Rossie. A real quality classic club. Have tried, and will try, other putters but have a feeling I'll be hanging on to this.
