Absolutely gutted as looks like I wont be able to play golf at the Belfry next week.
Fell on to a wine glass at BBQ round mine on Sunday with all the GM crew and slashed my leg open right down into the muscle, ambulance to A&E, stitches etc.
Been to docs to today to get a view and they think its unlikely I'll be able to play next week
Still hoping to be there in a Sam Snead type starters role enjoying a beer with everyone and doling out the prizes to the star performers
For those playing there will be final info going out via email and post in the next day or so...
Highlight for those on the overnight stay could be a mega putting contest on Tuesday evening round the main putting green!

The things a man will do when he's running scared of the opposition.

You're the second one in two days, Atticus_Finch stuck the head on a tree just to give an excuse for his performance. At least he tee's off though ;)

Hope things heal quickly for you Mike.

if it helps we'll allow the sick note so you can have a buggy.

real shame, I've been looking forward to your efforts to retain your longest drive title.

That's a real shame Mike. A proper drinking injury though. Not just cutting a finger while slicing lemons for a G&T.

If you do still get to play (unlikely as it seems), do we have to 'beware the injured golfer?'

Good to get your excuses in early Mike :p

On a serious note, hope you have a speedy recovery as I'm still looking to kick your ass around EDGC.

Catch you next week.

Hi all
thanks for the kind words!
Steve - Buggy could be an option will just have to see
Neil - tees are yellows as we have such a broad spectrum of handicaps. Its still a very tough test from there and we might now have a chance of getting it on the 18th in two as well!
minigolfer - putting comp is just for those playing in the event - are you coming?
and no hcap certs required - as GM readers/forumers I am sure you are all of the highest integrity so trusting everyone on this

good linkage twire
just had a look through and reminded what an excellent course it is - hopefully being off the yellows will tempt more into going for the green on 10
I feel a spot prize coming on!
....now, off to the Les Ferdinard oxygen tank to try and speed up my recovery

Are you sure it was a slip and not an unprovoked attack by one of the "team" for a savage OOM handicap cut or telling them they are testing the new line of Slazenger drivers! Bad news though but muchos brownie points for the full ambulance (do not pass main reception and collect £200 or swine flu) and A&E experience. I hope your fears are unfounded but as I will be sitting through a thorough description of my pancreatic procedure as the second day unfolds excuse me if I am not too sympathetic! I can see you in a starter role but can't see you at the post throughout if the beer starts to flow. Either way enjoy the trip

"Fell on to a wine glass" Mike?? I trust that you had emptied it first :)

Although it is obviously a bad injury (it must be to possibly stop you from playing golf) it could have been far worse.

Have a good meet guys and gals. I'm just sorry I can't be with you to take your money.
