Lady beginner, mid fifties, looking to buy first electric golf trolley. Need something reliable for a hilly course but not too expensive! Any suggestions or advice gratefully received. (looked through forum but couldn't find anything relevant)

GoKart get my vote, I have had one for a year & it has been superb. The companies after sales service has to be experienced to understand how good it is.
If you're quick they have some ex demo models @ £140.

110% Go for the Gokart.

I wouldnt use anything else having owned one for a little while now.

Light, reliable, sturdy, easy to use, aesthetically nice, 2nd to none customer service, and just nice people to deal with.

Oh and at £200 or so, superb value.

The best advice I can offer is DONT BUY any of the £99-£149 trolleys, I had one and it was constant grief and the same goes for everyone else I know who went down the bargain-basement road.

Good Luck & Welcome to the forum.

Thanks very much. This is a make I hadn't looked at, so I ordered one of the demo models! :)

Welcome Debbie

Nice to have another lady online. I have a powakaddy but the switch has always been a bit dodgy, it turns itself on !! and flys down the fairway with me running behind. Go kart has had some really good reviews.

what part of the country do you play?

Debbie,

Welcome to the forum. Tell us a bit about yourself. Whereabouts are you, where do you play etc. Have a look in the forum pages in this months mag as Smiffy did a decent review of the go-kart

Another vote for GoKart, had one since they first came out, superb bit of kit and customer service is second to none in the any industry let alone in the world of golf.

Great cart, and as others have mentioned, the back up service is second to none.
A stupid mistake by me saw my gokart topple backwards a few weeks ago, which broke the handle retaining latch. I was not a happy bunny, but as I say...it was my own stupid fault.
A quick email to gokart explaining the situation saw my damaged cart picked up a couple of days later, they lent me a loan trolley whilst mine was being repaired, and it was returned within the week as good as new. All at no cost whatsoever to myself.
You cannot put a price on service like that.

Seems to be a lot of votes for Go-Kart. I think they look odd, but may have a closer look if I can find a local dealer stocking them.

On the subject of the really cheapones I got my othe half a cheapie from Focus DIY it has the smallest battery you can imagine & doesn't look all that nice, yet its gone on & on, never gives her a moments problem & is quick...very quick..!

I really like my Motocaddy, though I can really go on what I've experienced. My only qualm is the din plug to the power unit does shake loose every now & then & you have to reach under every now & again to plug it back in. I keep thretening to take a tube of UHU to the plug

Mate of mine has something I'venever heard of before but it looks like a vague copy of something from Powercaddy & motorcaddy combined. His 18 hole battery seems to go on for at least 36.

My Parents use Hillbilly they never have any problems. Theirs are a bit dated now in looks & I hear Hillbilly have some nicer looking examples these days.
