Beer and Golf

Or he might have to drive afterwards

It's the same with our swindle

Coffee to start - coffee at the halfway hut then sausage and chips when we finish plus a soft drink or a beer if not driving

Certainly don't see many drinking on the way round as most I know can survive 4/5 hours without needing a drink. Seen the odd take a beer at the halfway hut at Woburn as beer is on tap

I would have thought that only 4 cans over a four hour round, and then a couple at the 19th would be Ok if you were driving. But everyone to their own I suppose. The important thing is the we enjoy ourselves

?! Really

Would think that would put most about 2/3 times over the limit ?

I'm now convinced your a double identity, some of your posts are just too out there for a noob, I'll only be convinced otherwise if you turn up at a meet and play, or play with someone whom we all can trust, you sir are on a mission 😂😂

Not at all. That would be equivalent to only about five pints over 6 hours. You lose about half a pint of alcohol an hour from your system, which means you would only have few pints in your system. The exercise from the golf would reduce it even further. If you want to be really careful, just have three cans, and you will breeze through any test. Of course, if you prefer to drink no booze at all, that is your choice entirely

Got to be a joke yes ?

I just gave you fact, so why ?

Fact ?

One pint is about 3 units - 4 units puts most over the limit

4 cans and two pints in a 5 hour period would put most males at around 10-12 units

And you think that's OK to drive ?

The 2 pints after the round alone puts you over.
There is a decent drinking culture at our club, and it's all the better for it.

Who said anything about "needing a drink?"
Do you ever really need a drink?

If you drink snake bight made with Stella you may be right. An average sized male who has eaten within the given period will be OK if he has drunk 2 pints of beer of a reasonable specific gravity. That said, I am a great believer in personal choice. If you prefer to drink a coffee to start with, and then a can of coke in the club house, as long as your company is good, I really don't care. My thread was about the drinking culture on the golf course, and not what big brother says is OK !!

As I drive to my golf club I always have a tea or coffee after the round or a long soft drink if a hot day, if I get a lift then have a drink or two. Quite a lot of the old boys knock back the pints and red wine like there is no tomorrow, if they get taxi home I have no idea as I'm long gone by then.

If on holiday and a beer was on offer at halfway hut would probably have one, again only if not driving.

I like a drink as much as the next man. sometimes more.. But very rarely during a round.. Only available at the halfway on Captains weekend...

I am usually driving and would never ever ever drink as much as you suggest and expect to be under the drink drive limit.. You seriously are pushing the boundaries with that one fella...

Don't tend to drink during a round, although on baking hot days I've been known to have a corona off the buggy mid round... But it's very rare. The only time I tend to involve drinking with golf is the Christmas comp, Jesus do we get in a pickle!

Definitely a good mix in our club house after the round, but I have to say our club has a very strong social side and it's not rare for our nights to go on well into early hours.

I'm a lightweight when it comes to drinking. 3 pints of Stella and I'm "on my way" so there is no way on God's earth that I would have a pint either before, or during, a round.
I might have a couple of lager shandies when I've finished, but that's about it. On a really hot day I prefer a cup of tea. Find it more refreshing.
