Played in our winter league today and it was hard graft. Wind, rain, cold, numb hands absolutely shocking. Sad thing for me was that I got off to a great start but after 8 holes the hands were numb, the wind got worse and the rain got heavier. Out in 20pts back in 12. Disappointing but I'm still pretty content. How did everyone else get on?

Glad I didn't play today. Work instead. There has been a constant drizzle all day. Grey, murky, no wind to speak of but really wet and horrible.
Playing tomorrow. Hopefully the weather forecast is correct and it will stop raining later on this evening leading to a dry morning/day.
Finges crossed.

Played in Stableford today, rained first 6 holes when i was 2 under handicap, then it stopped, and game went down hill. Putting was poor, 36 in total including 4 three putts. Finished with 34 points so probably in the buffer zone, and still a single figure handicap player. :D :D

Wet and windy here. Scored exactly the same as you Tiger, 20 on the way out then 12 on the way back (though that was over 17 holes and one hole is being re-modelled over the winter). My problem was a wet grip on my driver, could not get it dry and was spraying it worse than usual.

Well it's finally stopped raining here and the skies are brightening up.
All I need is the sun to stay out all night and dry everything up and it will be a cracking day Grommit

GB72 you might want to try the Lamkin N-DUR grips. Fantastic in the wet. Still raining here have a feeling next week will be off 18 temps. What I wouldn't give for a little sunshine!!!!

Spent most of last night wishing I wasn't playing today but it was a comp and I wasn't going to let anyone down.

When I got there the pro said there was no pressure to play, he was leaving it up to individual players if they wanted to or not, and the 2 ladies me and my mate had been paired with had both decided not to play!

We went out anyway since the kit was all ready to go and after 1 hole I was ready to walk back in because my fingers were froze.
Carried on with the intention of playing 6, then when we finished 6 we decided to play 9. After 9 my mate went because he couldn't grip his clubs any more but I carried on and played 10, 11, 14, 15 and 18.

The Footjoy weathersof gloves are brilliant. Don't even bother trying to keep anything dry, just had 2 of those on.

Didn't keep score because I couldn't be bothered with putting when the rain was heavy but the driver went well and even started hitting my irons well again.

Roll on next weekend.

It smashed it down all night here so wasn't surprised to see us on temps today. Not a breath of win and reasonable temps so it was an enjoyable day.

42 points and scooping our cash made things all the better.

Absolutely super day here in Derry, good sunshine, very few clouds and only a gentle breeze

Wont get a better day for golf in winter, well not in the west of Ireland anyway!!

Shot 3 over for 16 holes, which considering i was 3 over after the 2nd was a great days golf. Doubled the first, bogeyed the 2nd then a run of 10 pars followed by a birdie before bogey, par finish.

Very happy with my game today especially as i havent swung a club for 3 weeks

Hope for more good weather and golf tomorrow

I even got wet at the driving range today!

Still the Mighty Eagles beat Sheffield Utd and I am just about to watch Crawley spank Man U 5 - 0. Game of golf tommorrow and Mon and Tues off work - life is grand!

Three inches of snow on our course, so no play. It's typical, today was a 4BBB stableford and was one of the few times that my shifts coincided with those of a mate from work who is off 6. I always play well when I get a game with him and was really looking forward to the day.

Rain stopped here just as i walked onti the first tee and stayed off:-).

Broke 40 for the front 9 for the first time ever, out in 19 pts.

Back 9 going well until i stepped onto the 16th tee, and butchered the last 3. Home in 15pts.

New driver still going well, really consistent, even the old putter i pulled from under the stairs was working!

Nice day, good company, reasonable golf, i'm a happy man!

Played on Thursday - really nice weather, felt like spring. Played yesterday - foggy, damp and cold. This morning - looked out of the window, went back to bed. Must admit I cannot be bothered these days battling the elements to play a round like I used to, so I played around with the wife instead. ;)

Brilliant!!! :D

Played in the swindle. Only 4 hardy souls today so we had a match. Started in constant drizzle. Knew it wouldn't be my day when the opening tee shot went straight right OB. Hacked it round and every shot was a struggle. Couldn't get any feeling or tempo and it was all way too quick. The odd good one interspersed with a lot of crap. It chucked it down on 9 and so two guys pulled off bt Hawkeye (Mike) and I carried on. I can't remember the last time I started and played all the way round in the rain and had the waterproofs on for 18 holes. The Proquips did the job though.

Managed to drag Mike down to my level with ease and he had a bit of a mare over the last few holes. I actually played a few good shots from 15 in but all in all it was a real effort. We had a good laugh though and I enjoyed the challenge of playing on wet ground and trying to concentrate on the shots (the metal aspect of playing in poor conditions). Shame I decided to pick today to hit a lot of fat shots. The course stood up pretty well. Lots of casual water on the fairways but the greens were all prefectly playable and none had any standing water.

SNAP!! Was a fantastic day today and had a great game in a gaeltacht league match which we won 5&4 and the club won all 10 matches, now if only it could hold for tomorrow...............

Rescheduled December Medal today, would have been better playing in December!!! Lashed it down all day, quite breezy and bitterly cold :(

Had my best start in weeks, then bunkers put the mockers on things, doubled the 4th (2 to get out), and tripled the 8th (3 to get out!). Four penalties on the back 9 including 2 consecutive 5 woods hooked OOB :o

Finished with an 89 total, so not a total disaster, but equalled my worst round of the year.
