Battered by the elements

Our weather must have moved your way Homer, as it stopped raining about 10.30 here. Couldn't be bothered to take waterproofs off in case it started again, but am really pleased with my ProQuip's. No puddles here, but the rough was very heavy, and chipping was difficult to judge. Driving is so bad now that had to hit 3 wood, which made the course play even longer.

Got my greens in regulation stats up to 55% which was not bad, but 36 putts not so good. 6 missed from inside five feet, tells me it is back to the V-Easy. :( :(

I played longhirst, northumberland today and it was the worst decision I ever made. I have to travel for 30 minutes to get there and walked off after 9 holes.

I should have played closer to home and on a more sheltered course then maybe I could have stayed on a little longer.

Absolutly gutted as I was looking forward to it all week

I'm with NMJocko - rain held off even ended up playing in just a jumper (and the usual trousers etc before anyone starts!), had a nice round infact no temps and decent bouncy fairways - going to York tomorrow to play Aldwark Manor - see how deep the snow is!!

It was Winter League yesterday, and as I'm not in it this year I arranged a game with a couple of mates. They both bottled it when they saw the weather, and I got some very odd looks when I pitched up at the club at 7.30am. To a man, all my mates asked me why the Hell I was there if I didn't have to be!

I went out at 7.56am on my own, got cold and wet, and had a great time! Knocked it round in 8 over for 37 points when many of the WL pairs behind me didn't manage that many!

Never been a fair weather golfer, me. I'll go out in pretty much anything. But then I've always been a sarnie short of a picnic.

I quite enjoyed it yesterday too.
I think it's very relaxing walking along under an umbrella when it's raining. Waterproofs and hat so you don't feel the wet when you have to play a shot. Wet weather gloves so you don't have to try and keep grips dry. Flask of coffee and leisurely strolling up the fairways because there's no-one else about to hurry you.

Played on Thursday - really nice weather, felt like spring. Played yesterday - foggy, damp and cold. This morning - looked out of the window, went back to bed. Must admit I cannot be bothered these days battling the elements to play a round like I used to, so I played around with the wife instead. ;)

How many holes did you play,lol :) :) :D

Brilliant!!! :D

Gave her a stroke at the first hole and then sank a long one.
