read the grip section in GM mag. ive only realised that i have a very weak grip :(. so today went to range tried to change to neutral. did find it difficult but not much of a differnece. before anyone says it yes i probably have other swing issues etc. but with my woods i used baseball grip and what an improvement. :D it is my woods i have a bigslice hence my username. :D any thoughts on baseball grip for woods and neutral for mid to short irons. it will be tomorrow before i try it out on course. as its only my second season back im up for trying anything.

hi

i have been playing 6 months and have always used baseball grip and it doesnt seem to stop you from hitting it along way , the other grips all look too confusing as well :o

Another baseball griper here!

Played baseball most of my life apart from a few years when I was told I was wrong and tried to adapt an interlock grip.

I have small hands and just feel far far more comfortable playing golf with a baseball grip. Who says its wrong anyway?

only tried it today, glad there are others. (god forbid i went the other way and become a lefty :D. im not trying to turn pro, but after consistency. will report after sundays game

I've tried it but ended back up with the interlocking grip. There will always be people in each camp claiming their way is best but the key thing surely is getting the clubface square at impact. How you get it their is up to you.

Each to their own I suppose but I'm guessing the baseball grip is not taught by teachers for a reason. It can encourage too strong a grip in the right hand. Hands don't work as one unit just as easily with that grip. If you've got small hands you could get smaller diameter grips and still employ a Vardon or interlocking grip.

If it works for you, stick with it.

Dai Rees who won many tournaments and was also Captain of the Ryder Cup team who beat the Yanks in 1957, used it.

i think you will be better off doing interlocking or vardon grip. It will feel wierd at first but all grips do when you change, sure most people will feel wierd trying the baseball grip. Using the vardon or interlocking will make you better, name five good pros that used the baseball grip...
now name five good pros who used vardon or interlocking grip...
Good luck anyway with any decision you make :D
