I’m with you I hate seeing balls with a line on them. On the green all I want to see is the white ball no logo, no lines or anything just the ball. This is one reason I hate having thick alignment lines on my ball - if I've got an approach shot and it's pointing 15 yards right of the green, I feel like that might throw me off a bit.![]()
That’s horrific! Makes the ball look to busy and is absolutely messing with my OcD that it’s not aligned to anything in the ball and isn’t even central on the ballI put a line up line on my ball but there is no way of knowing where on the ball it will be because I use a ball spinner.
My mate's a bit OCD and hates looking at one because it never lines up with any logos etc on the ball.

I thought Wilson premium ball was the Staff ball ? Didn’t know there was a Tour ball.
I got 2 mates who only play Prov 1. The deal is I get any balls they find and I give them the Prov I find.Try the Wilson Duo soft
When lining up on a tee or on a green more often than not there is a part of the ball where you only see the line .I’m with you I hate seeing balls with a line on them. On the green all I want to see is the white ball no logo, no lines or anything just the ball.
Agreed, it looks disgusting. I could not play with that. If I found that ball in the bushes, I would chuck it back in.That’s horrific! Makes the ball look to busy and is absolutely messing with my OcD that it’s not aligned to anything in the ball and isn’t even central on the ball
I still wouldn’t want to see the line I’m really not a fan of them and one that isn’t even central to the ball itself would annoy me even more. When lining up on a tee or on a green more often than not there is a part of the ball where you only see the line .
A ball spinner balances a ball for optimum flight to reduce ball 'wobble' in flight or on a green. Seen some pretty horrificly balanced balls in the 20 or so years I have been doing it. I am not OCD about it myself.
Same here. If I found that I’d either chuck it straight back where I found it or hit it on the driving range never to be see again.Agreed, it looks disgusting. I could not play with that. If I found that ball in the bushes, I would chuck it back in.
I was a bit confused when they were called Wilson tour & Wilson Staff . All good now![]()

Advised by the pro who sells you the balls?I was advised to choose any premium ball and stick to it.
Was you given any advice as to actually why you should choose any premium ball and blindly stick with it.I was advised to choose any premium ball and stick to it.
Was this because the advice giver thought that all premium balls have identical characteristics or because you should somehow adapt your game to the characteristics of the ball you randomly chose?I was advised to choose any premium ball and stick to it.
Which ones? I had the TW-S, and found it to be a great ball.We have used up the last of our Honma balls so are now using Callaway supersoft.

Personally I prefer to look for good deals on new balls , although I'm not averse to using balls I find myself. With the cost of premium balls being so high, what are people’s thoughts on buying second hand balls?
Personally I wouldn’t buy lake balls or refinished balls, but I have bought second hand balls off eBay and generally been ok. You do get the odd one that doesn’t feel right, but I’ve not had many of them. Trouble is they’re getting as expensive as new ‘cheaper’ premium balls!
