I was in sport direct about 2 weeks ago(just down the road from me). Picked up some, wait for it Dunlop tour golf balls £8 for 2 doz. Thought these will be rubbish but ok on the field to practice with(areas of long grass fed up with loosing good balls). Used them 4-5 times now. Suprise suprise. They feel soft from the club face, go along way, plus I got some backspin on them. Really was an eye opener. Ok not a top end ball but for the money very good. Soon as I can I will try them on the course. They could be a good winter option. and at less than 50p a ball you dont mind loosing them to much.

A mate of mine played with one of these on Saturday. He three putted the first 3 greens, til he threw the ball in the woods and got a ProV out. Putted fine after that.

I love it when a company puts the word 'tour' on a load of cheap rubbish though. Does any body use these on tour? I doubt it.

Like anything in life... you get what you pay for. I do not believe for one minute it is up there with TM Penta and ProV1. At that price would be a great buy for a beginner to loose a dozen a round. But I do not believe for 1 minute that it will perform anything like a premium golf ball or they would be a lot more to buy.

plus I got some backspin on them.

At the moment you should - unless you're Murph - be able to get backspin with a pebble the way most greens are now.
I got 3 feet of backspin from 180 yards with a TopFlite today from my hybrid.

And mostly we're short of the hole so we don't want backspin anyway......
