Ballot papers v score cards

Why are ballot papers being handled and counted within a 12 hour period, when golf score cards are supposed to be left untouched for 72 hours

Scorecard will be handled by people all over the golf course etc

Ballet papers will be controlled more I'm sure with hand sanitizer done before you cast your vote

Perhaps one of the people at EG who makes this decision is also the handicap sec at a club and quite likes not having to deal with scorecards? Maybe they want to stretch this out a little longer ?
I think there's a lot of this kind of thing/attitude going on due to Covid constraints, in all areas .
GPs aren't seeing as many patients face to face, mostly phone consultations. While the admin staff and nurses carry on doing extra duties, working within Covid conditions .

It's forced the NHS into the 21st century they even admit it

Using technology to aid them

Gp over phone or video call can be so efficient

Our daughter had conjunctivitis he sent us a link to upload a pic .. prescription sent to local pharmacy in seconds

Wifes midewifes were all video calls

Less travel for them

Could see more people in a day

I never thought about it at the time, but the person who tore off the three ballot papers and handed them to us was not wearing any kind of gloves. Perhaps they had to take a covid test before they started? I guess they sanitize their hands before they start, but does that provide protection for all of their session at the desk if they have the virus?

I thought the notion of "transmission by touching surfaces" was pretty much scientifically debunked? So I'd sugggest it's the England Golf rules that need revisiting rather than the Electoral Commission's.

My wife is currently doing all the election stuff at the moment and she was required to have a Covid test within 48 hours of polling day. She has also been doing postal votes and is involved in counting today and they have a lot of regulations in place and there are masks, visors and sanitizer all over the place.

But the important thing is - did all the people casting their vote by paper ballet have a covid test before handling the ballot paper. How long will the virus last inside a metal box with no air flow.

Maybe it is one of this governments tests to see how much virus gets transmitted in this fashion.

I bypassed all that sneaky testing stuff by doing a postal vote.

Did your postman do a covid test before going out for his shift to collect all that post/ deliver to your door
