Was chatting with a mate at work today who was telling me he’d just finished the Bacon Experiment. He then told me he’d eaten nothing but 2lbs of bacon a day for 30 days....🐖😲

Needless to say I thought he was pulling my chain, but he was adamant it was true, and, that he’d lost a stone in weight to boot!

Still not convinced, he dragged up some details online and swore blind that he had and that it had worked for him. Have been looking online and found a few pages all referencing back to the bacon experiment.

I know eating bacon doesn’t make you fat specifically but I’m sure it can’t be good for you to just eat bacon for 30 days.

What do you think? Anyone on here tried it? If not, would you try it?

you may lose weight, but i can't think it would be very good for you with the amount of salt involved.
 
Good way to have a heart attack. Too much salt unfortunately. I love bacon but eating it constantly is madness. Fad diets, what could possibly go wrong 😵😵?
 
Processed food? No one ever warned us about eating too much of that!!
 
I converted to a meat, eggs and cheese only diet 3 months ago.

Mainly just eat steak and eggs every day.

Feel great, in best shape of my life, loads of energy, sleeping well.



Reckon people should give it a try before passing judgement of these things.

The population is not exactly healthy with the current standard diet.
 
These daft diets only work because they introduce an eating regime. If you have will power and eat only what you need via a variety of foods you will control your weight.

Too much of one type of food will cause mineral and vitamin deficiency leading to health issues.

Bacon is a cured product that is potentially harmful when eaten more than twice a week
 
I always eat bacon before I play 18 holes. I'm a very streaky player.

I remember a mate of mine went on the tuna diet. Nothing but tins of tuna for a month or so. This was maybe 10 years ago.

He shifted a load of timber but the side effects where a gaunt look, sweaty looking skin and he genuinely stunk like a trawler man.

He decided to call it a day after puking his guts up in the messdeck sink.

Pure brine and fish. It absolutely honked.

After going back on his normal diet of pot noodles, ginsters steak slices and cheesy hammy eggys. He ballooned.

Must have shifted a stone and a half during it though

This is the exact reason any trendy/fad diets dont work long term. Few mates of mine paid thousands and did one called LighterLife, i think they had meals and shakes provided for 2-3 months. Once over, they ballooned again. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, a proper lifestyle change is required for good.
 
Just eating protein is basically the Atkins diet. One of those doc's on the TV did it and it works. As MIB says. Cut out carbs!!!! I'd eat some veg as well. I've cut out a meal a day (lunch) and don't drink in the week, but do what I like at the weekend. The misses said that me fat gut is disappearing. :thup:
