Hi everyone. Just thought I'd share this video with you. It's quite cheesy, but I've found the two backswing thoughts that it talks about to have helped me massively over my rounds today and yesterday. I scored 35 points both rounds and generally hit every club better than I ever have. 1 NR today and 2 NRs yesterday which I'm looking to improve but with practice I'm sure it'll come.

Take a look and let me know what you think! Have any of you ever had advice that has instantly changed your game?

A lot of what this guy teaches makes perfect sense. However this video seems to be a complicated way of describing a relatively old method of getting the pupil into a good position at the top. ie if you take your posture with the clubhead behind the ball, hinge your wrists until the shaft is parallel to the ground, lift your arms until the shaft is pointing straight upwards and then turn until your back is facing the target, you should be in a great position at the top of your backswing.
Some teachers maintain that the swing is an illusion. The arms don't move backwards at all, they just lift straight up and the body rotates.
I tried this earlier in the season, feeling like I was lifting my arms straight up as I rotated my body and not moving my arms or shoulders backwards at all. It does work but I found it to be a little robotic to be fully effective. For me this is more about getting into the right position at the top which is not something I personally struggle with, but there is no doubt it will be helpful to many.

Wow. I have never thought of the backswing like this before. This could change my game, can't wait to take it to the range. Is this how good players actually play?

Hi Yamikuriboh! I was at the range Friday night. Struggling with strike massively. Got home done some reading, watched a few videos and found the video I shared. I practiced the feeling of the arms slightly lifting, the right elbow folding, and the the turn separately. Kept it repeating this at every opportunity during my rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Shot 35 points two rounds in a row. To make the right elbow fold even more efficient, I found the advice regarding the right arm elbow pit pointing outwards helps even more.

Good luck trying this out, hope it helps. Let me know how you get on!
