If you hit it properly, any ball will have some stop. If not ProVs will help. If you can't stop those, you are hitting it wrong.

That said, I play off 9. I can't stop them either.

You're asking a lot from the ball. Its a distance ball. It's hard. It doesn't spin much - that's why it goes a long way. Even with a perfect strike with a brand new Vokey it'll only stop on a wet green.
If you want backspin use a ProV, Z-Star, or similar.

Most of us don't really need backspin as we mostly end up short of the flag anyway. Why do want backspin if you're short? Not saying you are in paeticular but look at where your shots pitch in relation to the flag. If you're at the front of the green then you want the ball to release towards the hole not stop or spin back.

aye i no the distace ball is hard, just some greens where its tricky 2 land, the green is heading down hill away from you it or you dont have much green 2 play with a we bit of check/backspin would be nice its not even so much the backspin its more a bit of check at the minute its like ive just used a 7 iron bump and run when im using the 58 wedge.

are these pro-v's the best all round ball? would i notice much difference from the srixon like when putting or distance or anything

I use the pro v1 and find that i get some check with them, I am not that fussed about the back spin, as I am usually pin high or short of the pin, so if it spun, I'd have a longer putt! I have tried the Zstarr and it was equally as good as the pro v. the softer feel does make a difference to me. I really like hitting these balls with wedges and the putter, in comparison to the rock like distance balls. If you dont want to spend the money on pro v1 etc, when try srizons soft feel ball and see how it goes, I dont think there is much price diff between it and the distance ball.

Them srixon distance wont be helping you getting any check or spin they are as hard as a goats knee to be honest..

I got a box for Xmas there, think they came from sports world or something for like a tenner for 12 or 15.

Used a few of them grand for winter use or as practice balls.

Assuming it isn't a wind up, the new Callaway balls are extremely good. The (z) really goes and I've got tons of spin with it to with short and mid irons. The (s) is softer and spins more so useful when (and if) the sun arrives and the greens dry out.

Both my wedges are milled and I get a gentle one-hop, land and stop with distance balls. I wouldn't want any more spin t.b.h.

I still have trouble around the greens with milled wedges, despite having them 2 years, I simply forget to give it the extra uumph....
