Hi all

this is definitely one for those forumers who haven't upgraded their metalwoods recently...

We are looking for 4 golfers to get fitted for the new R15 and AeroBurner (driver and a fairway) to see what performance benefits the new models offer

The fitting is at the TaylorMade performance centre Wentworth on Thursday March 19. You'll need to make it there under your own steam and be prepared to feature in a magazine piece and video

The only pre-requisite is that you need to still be playing old TaylorMade product! Specifically one of these models

To be in with a chance of selection for R15 you'd need to be playing...
R7 Superquad
R7
R500 series
R300 series

To be in with a chance of selection for AeroBurner you'd need to be playing...
Burner Superfast 2.0 (white or black head)
Burner SuperFast
Burner (09)
Tour Burner
Burner Draw
Burner/Burner Plus/Burner Tour
Bubble Burner
Burner (the original!)

To put yourself forward send an email to golfmonthly@timeinc.com
with 'Back To The Future' as the subject line and the following info

Name
Forum name (if applicable)

DOB
Handicap
Home club (if applicable)
Current driver (must be one of the above)
Picture of you with said driver

Appreciate we have a lot of gear nuts on here playing latest product so this maybe one to tel for your less up to date playing partners!!!

NB we are running this right across all our social channels

Clsoing date to put your hat in the ring is Friday Feb 27. Those selected will be informed by March 5

Sadly no old TM gear stashed away. Would have entered my brother but he has the R9 so is out as well (plus he is a leftie which always causes problems)

I was playing my R510TP most of last year, and still have the original RBZ in the bag .... shame none of them are listed :(

.... and grabbing my Superfast from the spares bag would be cheating

Reckon now is the time for people to get their old TM gear on Ebay, there may be a sudden increase in interest.

I have an R540 knocking about somewhere and i did actually use it for a giggle the other week for 9 holes, and rediscovered that 9.5 XS is too much for middle aged me! And in fact my facebook photo is still of me hitting it on the first tee on a society day a few years back

Yippie.. a TM opportunity finally. Am a TM fanboi so would be nice as I havent put any new sticks in the bag in about 2 years... My Burner2.0 driver is in the dog house as it has lost its mojo (can I still qualify?)... name going into the hat sometime this week when i get back home from my travels.

Off to ebay

Joking aside, i had a whack of the aeroburner fairway today, and wow! the lucky 4 are in for a treat!!

R15 driver 'swap' stops at R7 SuperQuad - the last R without shaft adjustment/easily changeable.
I went R7 425, R7 SuperQuad & R9 SuperTri.
At the weekend I tried R11 - 100% no better than R9. Put my R9 shaft in to the R11 and it was practically a carbon copy for results.
It's all (98%) in the shaft.
Unless you have a complete custom fit SuperQuad I fancy you will see an improvement with the R15 - purely because it an be easily / quickly fitted to you.
R9 ~ R15 i doubt you would see much improvement. If you did I bet you could fire the final spec R15 shaft in to an R9 and get the same results.

Good luck to all who enter - another quality opportunity!

Let's hope people do find improvement moving from a 7 year old driver to the R15 otherwise it makes TM's - and everyone else's - marketing claims a bit redundant..!

Found the r7 to sit very closed. No doubt you can rectify that on the r15.

Great opportunity this. I'll sit this one out as a previous winner of the jpx850. I'm back in the mix after this though 😎
