Playing a course in England next week with Golfmmad and would like to enter a GP score on my SG app

We will be playing at a course he’s not a member off , how would I go about putting him in to attest my score?

The SG app I beleive added all the courses in Wales and England so you should be able to enter the score from the course and then search for your brother from the club list

SG app just requires you to type in the attester's name and get them to sign at the end of the round....the app has no functionality to verify who they are and where they're a member as far as I'm aware so it should be simple.

Gosh, I've been a member In Scotland for many years and have no idea how to submit a score on their app.
Not that I've needed to.

Thanks , I’ve put plenty of g/p rounds at my own course and attester has to sign on phone at end of round.

If the app has no facility to verify attester you could put anyone’s name in even if they have never been to a golf course,if that’s the case it’s not been set up correctly as it would be so easy to cheat.

The attester has to have registered on the app, you can’t put anyone’s name in. Submission of GP cards is the same irrespective of what country you are in.

Is this in Scotland? Pretty sure in Scottish Golf app you can just type in the attester's name.

yep. SG app allows you to either search for a member at the club, or put anyones names in and squiggle a signature.

and its a wonder why people get caught being handicap cheats!!

any thoughts on what i should do here?

There is a guy in our club whose SG HCI is low 4s
He puts a lot of GP in, and his HCI is solely based off GP scores.
A few comp scores that i could see this year - 88, 19 pts, 83, 93, 25pts - ive played with him a few times, realistically he probably about a 12.
As i know his traits, I saw him on sunday playing by himself, and lo and behold he put a card in (a decent score obv).
Do i grass him up or leave him to it given its only his own enjoyment he is ruining?

Well he is not playing with integrity and honesty, he is not abiding by the Rules of Handicapping, and probably not by the Rules of Golf if there is such a big discrepancy in the GP vs Competition scores. In my language, and that of the R&A, he’s a cheat. And his attester is also culpable.
What you chose to do about it is up to you, and then your handicap committee.
I would report him, the more this behaviour is recognised, the more likelihood there is of some action being taken by the golf unions to improve the way scores can be legitimately submitted.

If you have proof or are willing to attest that he put a card in after playing by himself then you must report it. This is blatant cheating and should be subject to a disciplinary hearing. Over to you!

This does make me laugh to be honest. Does anyone manage a reasonable attempt at their actual signature with their finger on a phone screen?? Or do we all just scribble aimlessly in the box and submit?
