At least i broke 100

Been playing golf since August last year and i do try n play as often as i can.

I had my first lesson on Thursday and he changed my grip (as i wasnt linking my little finger n fore finger) and also said i lifted my left foot on my backswing which caused me to be inconsistent.

Although it still isnt great i played Great Salterns today in Portsmouth and scored 98. I was actually happy with this though as i was trying out the new things i learned this week and i had never played there before.

I feel like its the start of good things to come.

Good score seeing as you've only been playing a few months. I've played a few rounds at Salterns. Nice and flat so a good place to play when you are learning.

Congrats. I was all set to shoot below 100 yesterday. Second round of golf but the weather was nice and I was feeling good. Generally played quite well but a 7 on a par 3 and an 11 on a par 4 put paid to those hopes. 106. 19 shots improved on last round so can't complain. Last 4 holes were a 3 over 4,4,6,4 which was encouraging for next time. Can't wait to get out there again now

Well done gumbo, it's a hell of a buzz isn't it! I broke 100 for the first time last year and am aiming to break 90 this year.

I really struggle with the linking of the little finger and fore finger but am going to keep trying to work this into my game as it obviously seems to be the recommended grip.

Well done! I broke 100 recently with a 95. I usually play at a 9 holes course once round so my progress is difficult to gauge there. I'm hoping to break 90 by the end of the year if I can!

The grip change was strange to get used to but the problem i had was lifting my left foot on my backswing which was causing my shots to be inconsistent and not linking my fingers caused my dominant hand to hook the ball left.

It is a buzz and i was ready to play again straight after i finished, just booked up East Horton (Parkland) for this sunday so hopefully i'll get it even lower.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, it's always nice to know that people of a lesser golfing skill is always welcome
