Asking for Advice Rule 8 (1)

Within the terms of Rule 14-3 if within a round a player asks another who has a Sky Caddie or something similar for a distance is this construed as asking for advice?

If so is the penalty disqualification?

My immediate thought would ne no.
Yardage is common knowledge, in the public domain. Asking for a yardage, I don't think, would contravene any Rule.

As long as there is a Local Rule in place to allow DMD's...

No problem - the distance is a "matter of fact" and therefore is not "advice".
