Are you glad to see rangefinders in use in a major this week?

Reminds me of my mate who uses a laser from virtually everywhere. I have not seen him use it on the green but sometimes he is not far off it.

A couple of weeks ago he ball was just a couple of feet from the 100 yard disc with the flag in the middle and out came the laser.

I played in a final (of no repute) a few years ago where my opponent zapped me on the 18th green to see whose putt it was

I suppose it would be of benefit after the player has hit one of those horrendous shots where they hadn't taken a measurement from in practice. Would save time rather than sending the caddie to pace the distance out all the way to the green.

So we should see Bryson & Rory with it out for almost every 2nd shot!

A good thing in my view - logically, it has to speed things up. I would also like to see the Green Books banned which I appreciate is a separate subject but I am of the view that reading a break is an integral part of the skills required in golf. Asking a caddy for a precise distance is not.
