Just wanted to let any interested North East golfers (and anyone who fancies a trip to God's Region!) that there are a group of forum members on here from the NE region who meet up once a month and play courses over the region.
We have our own group page at http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/group.php?groupid=10 with posts separate to the main forum pages and we also have a calendar of events throughout the year, mainly falling on the first weekend of each month.
So far, we have played Sharpley, Newcastle United, Dunstanburgh Castle and Goswick. Next events are scheduled for Cleveland, Slaley Hall, Matfen Hall, Stressholme or The Hirsel, Hartlepool and then an overnighter in October to Silloth.
The range of playing abilities is right across the handicap levels and we would be really happy for new members to join the group and play the events. We've also found its a good way of meeting local golfers to arrange ad-hoc games through the week.
We had 16 at our last event and 19 already signed up for Cleveland on 2/3/12 but it would be great to take more so that we can get the best deals possible at the courses.
If anyone fancies meeting up with a bunch of golfers keen to play different courses and have a laugh when playing then please either get in touch via the Group page or send me a PM.
The prize fund for Cleveland now stands at an all-time record high of £95 (£5 each!) and we only have 6 events left in "The Race to Silloth" where we will crown the Champion Golfer and also the Chumpion Golfer for the year.
Cheers
