Any fish keepers on here? I'm thinking of doing a planted tank (after many years of having a rift cichlid tanks) and putting Dwarf Gourarmi and wondered about tank mates - was thinking about a school of neon tetras, which aren't really an issue but I was going to have cherry shrimp but not sure if the gourami's will eat them though.

I used to have a couple of Oscars so it pointless sticking any plants in as they’d just rip them up.

My mate Ste is one of the top aquascapers going.
He does stuff like this

Planted tanks are no different to any other tank if you set them up correctly, substrate is were you will go right, pick what plants you want first and go from there, some plants need a specific substrate some just tie on to decor, all need light/energy and nutrients, gourarmi will ne ok with a few fish, black neons are a good shout more top level, glow lights, neons, barbs are more mid to low level and Cory's on the bottom, shrimp imo are a must have in an aquarium great cleaners and low bio load, ammano shrimp do the best job

What size tank ?
Gouramis can be quite territorial so I'd only have one depending on the size of your tank. Agree about Corys and armano shrimp to help clean the bottom of the tank.
Never had much luck with neon tetra, consider cardinals or green neon tetra.

Haven't got the new tank yet, but I was thinking of a 180L
