Anyone use an R1?

Yep I have one and it's getting replaced next year even though I like it as I fancy a wee trip to Gainsborough to get a new driver fitted by Ping. That, plus I managed to put a lovely sky mark on the crown. Feel free to make me a silly offer for it as ebay will no doubt fetch me very little.

The R1 is really adjustable but if your standard shot is a slice it won't adjust 'enough' to cure it.

I'm at 10.5 degree square and doubt I'll change this.

If you can find the middle of the clubface then this club will give you every chance of being safe and long. If you haven't met the middle of a driver's clubface in your life then click here:

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Are they any good?

Liking the idea of a completely adjustable driver

Not that I can hit one anyway :D

did you miss the 4 forummers all getting fitted for one in March this year? theres lots of info here, just do a search and you'll get answers to all your questions

Tried a few searches but it won't allow you to search just for R1

I'll try again

It's a decent club but I preffered the R11

Interesting to see what they bring out next year.

Although TM get bashed and I've gone right off them myself I don't think they make a bad driver. I'd still go Ping G25 though

I like g25 too but they are rather pricey still

Yep and unlike TM they hold there price for a long time. The G25 driver is a great club though and I nearly ditched the purchase of my G25 hybrid when I was fitted for it after hitting the driver in the same session.

I hit the anser driver in April and absolutely loved it, sadly it was in Canada so I couldn't get it home lol

Being completely adjustable is great, for club fitters. I don't tinker with mine, I have changed the settings on mine 2times in 8 months, first time was a flop, now I am happy with it set at 11 deg, neutral face and draw biased weights. Don't fall into the trap thinking that a completely adjustable driver will fix any fundamental swing flaws!

It is a great driver, it goes a mile and I am really happy with mine! They are a bargain now too, I have seen white and black for sub 200...

It is 95% shaft though. Whatever you buy, make sure you get the correct one for you! I tried about 9 shafts, ended up with a weird one, very light, but very stiff being 55g x stiff...

This is a given I need a regular for my swing speed but often find them too whippy when they're such lightweight shafts

Am I right in thinking the TP model has a heavier shaft?

I think they are, but go somewhere independent that has a wider variety of shafts than American golfs stiff or regular.... I would have said I needed heavier and less stiff than x, but i am not a club fitter!

Looking to change the shaft on mine - got the pro to investigate for me then give me a few options.

Just would like the shaft a bit heavier.
