anyone here got stiffer than s300

I find the KBS feel smoother than the DG's. I hit a demo S56 with S300's and it felt a bit more boardy than the KBS I have in mine.

Superb shafts, but probably not good for a high ball hitter.

I actually had the guy fit me with the mizuno fitting center and that special club but he still recommended against it! i still dont know what to do.

SImonC - how do you find the driver and shaft? i too am looking for the exact same setup as yourself with the ping i15. I hit it ridiculously high and struggle alot with ballooning shots and i was hoping a similar driver would give me a real penetrating flight

It's fantastic I launch it around 13-14 degrees now and the spin is way down I've seen it as low as 1700rpm on the launch monitor. I was using a Rapture V2 10.5 with an extra stiff Ozik X-con prior to the i15. I was launching that at 17.5 degrees with 3,300rpm of spin. I usually play in fairly windy conditions and I've not noticed any problems with ballooning I'm actually getting some run too even on our soft fairways.

What spec driver are you using at the moment and have you been on a launch monitor with it?

Atm its a TM 510TP 8.5 tour stif shaft. Ive been on a launch monitor and spin rate was around 4,000 which i believe is very high. Ping is the way to go i think just need to find a decent place to fit it

What do you play off golfstick?

The kbs shafts are fantastic, was hitting them other day with ping s56 and r9tps, in stiff, not x flex though, and for me they had a much stronger flight than my dg s300.

Definately worth a look!

There might be a little difference between S300 and S400. But i think a good golfer don't mind all these things. He can play as good with S300 as S400.

Got X100's in my MP68's. Solid shafts.

I found that the Project X's 6.0 & 6.5's threw the ball to high with too much spin.

I'm even trying to get hold of some X200's and X300's atm as I still think I need something slightly more stable. I also don't really want to vear away from DG for Project X.

I haven't tryied the KBS shafts yet though so might need to do that.

I went to Ping's national fitting centre at Gainsborough the only problem is there is approx. a 2 month waiting list.

4,000rpm is extremely high with an 8.5 degree head, sounds like a swing issue to me. Do you know what your angle of attack is? With a spin rate like that it I would have thought you are very steep into the ball.

I have Dynamic Gold X100 shafts in my irons and I think they are the best shafts out there, If I was you I would always go with the stiffer shaft if you are between two, as you may loose a little distance but you will be more acurate.

KBS X, perhaps soft stepped x 1 may be the answer.
