Anyone got the Ping G Driver yet?

G series added 600 rpm to my shots with the stock shaft. I have not tried the LS version of the G series and I couldn't put my Devotion or Matrix 7M3 shafts in due to different adapters. G series was nice, is it worth upgrading from my G30 LS? Probably not.

Im thinking about trying a g30 ls out after hearing good reports ,I game a r15 at the moment but I tend to get too much height with it at the moment and on my local links it's nightmare with the wind so if I can get a good deal on the g30 I think I'll go with it as I see a lot of them in people bags around the club so they can't be that bad right?

Got fitted for the G driver with the stock shaft. My best shot was 30 yds more than my old Nike Covert! It's a little less forgiving on mi***** but when you catch it right it keeps on going. I have the 10.5 head with a loft reduction of 0.6. I will be interested in hearing how you get on.

From everything I have read on the G I would not consider it above the G30. The only difference appears to be sound/feel. If they are important enough and you have the money then fair enough - but there is no performance difference between the G30 and G (when properly fitted). The vast majority who have tried both have reported above.

I went for a new driver fitting about a month ago, used to have a TM SLDR 10.5o and really suffered with keeping the ball down and the dispersion was terrible with the bad miss a slice.

Had a fitting with local pro and tried Titleist 915, Callaway XR16, Nike Vapor and the PING G.

Ended up with the PING G SF Tec with the stock shaft, as this was the longest hitting on the test, with the tightest dispersion of them all, although to be fair there was only 10 yards carry distance in them all, just the G was tighter.

I've paid 5 rounds with the G so far and my FIR is a load better, i'm hitting more fairways than I ever did with the SLDR, and have gained about 30yards (carrying around 230 now), as the flight is a lot straighter - i'm now hitting a baby draw.

Cant wait for the ground to firm up a little and see how the roll out is

They were all delivering better numbers than the SLDR by a long way.
