anyone else not play today?

I was looking at playing Caldy today but it was closed so after some Frantic phoning round we Squeezed a game in at Formby Ladies.

The front 9 was a bit of a joke putting over frozen Hail but the Back 9 was fine and the course was in unbelievable condition for the time of year.
I Played some good stuff until the cold got into the bones towards the end, Good to get out though

Not much chance of a game in the near future, at least 8 inches of snow lying on our course and a very cold night to come. First weekend off for ages as well. Roll on the spring.:D

Freak weekend near me.......forecast was honking but I played 18 yesterday morning in blue skies and sunshine and 15 today in a Texas scramble comp and only had a slight snow shower for 5 minutes. Only one temporary green as well despite the honking weather during the week.

:fore::fore::D:D

I didn't play yesterday as we were on temps and to be honest I didn't fancy it. Hit the range to get me ready for the first competition of 2015 today. Not sure it helped as the first two shots in anger this season sailed out of bounds right. Hopefully not an omen and finished with an OK 32 points

Nothing all weekend as was away doing' Christmas' with the in-laws. With the snow, rain and family commitments I have played only 2 rounds since early December.

Didn't play at the weekend, and really didn't miss it at all. The thought of trudging round soggy fairways with 5 layers of clothing on, trying to find a decent golf swing, chipping and putting onto temps or grubbing about in ankle deep rough looking for plugged balls, not really getting my desire to play engaged..........

Played Sunday and the course was in really good nick - apart from some reconstruction work. Was set for a pretty good score until duffing a pair of 8-irons and losing concentration/energy badly! Greens were immaculate until very late on, when their inevitable softness meant spike dents caused some bumpiness.

Very impressed with the state of Greens since Spring last year! Is that the same pattern for everyone?

Played Sunday, Course completely frozen solid.

Had a good laugh and enjoyed giving my £2 to the 18 handicapper who had 39 points with 2 blobs

Played first competitive round of 2015 yesterday in monthly stableford. Bit nippy and wet in places but playable. First tee shot of 2015..OB. Reload. Second tee shot of 2015...OB. Still managed 32 points but not quite the start I anticipated

tell you how cold it is here....

a) couldnt get into any car door for 5 mins this morning
b) ice/snow didnt shift off the car all the way to work
c) parked in an underground car park and when I returned 8 hrs later the ice hadnt shifted
d) course still closed
e) driving range closed as ball washing/delivery machine frozen
f) forecast from 5am tomorrow is worse

roll on spring

Roll on the spring indeed

I left home at 7 this morning, minus 6 temp outside, there was snow on the ground from Airdrie to Gretna. Now in Manchester and this afternoon was like a sunny cold late winter afternoon.

It's hard to believe all your tales of woe living in Costa del North Wales. No snow, no ice and although it is cold the course is in very good nick. Further along the coast towards the Cheshire border had snow a few weeks back but it bypassed us, much to my daughters disgust.

Well fraid I cant lord it over you lot at the moment

Rainy season here just now and a near miss from a cyclone last week means I haven't played in 2½ weeks, will try again this Saturday

On the plus side its still 30 degrees even if its wet
