Had a bit of spare time this afternoon so popped out to try a few drivers.

Tried out the 910D2 with reg and stiff shafts, the R11 and took my R9 along to compare.

It was absolutely no contest. If this was a boxing match the ref would have stopped it in the first round.

All of the clubs were roughly the same distance, but my god, the D2 was sooooo forgiving. Even the bad ones weren't what I'd call bad.

When I miss-hit the R11, and my R9, it was a big slice. The D2 was more of a gentle fade.

The only minor downside of the D2 was the sound off the face, very muted, when you nail one with the R9 and R11 you get a pleasing sound. The strike just sounds powerful.

Used up £100 of my xmass AG vouchers got them to price match On-line golf, so just cost me £140 cash. So I'm a pretty happy bunny.

Just need to find time to get out for 9 holes with it before the comp this weekend :D

Got mine on Friday and lets just say the Jury is still very much out.

Persevere I was the same when I got mine and was even thinking about trying to get a 909D2 but now I have used it a few times it is magic.

Good choice Westy :D

Oh Bugger!!

Went and tried the 910F-d and the 910H today.......

Need to get some more work done sharpish - need to find a few quid!

I'm picking mine up on Saturday.

Even if it's not perfect, it is definitely a million times better than my Ping G5.

Sounds like the honeymoon period mate! Titleist clubs period and not forgiving, IMO they are the most difficult clubs to hit consistently due to the smallish sweetspot. I had a D2 and loved it but just wasnt consistent enough to hit it good all the time. Off center hits for me easily lost 25 - 30 yrds.

Good luck to you!

I think in the past I would have agreed with you. I've hit some of the older Titliest drivers and I know a few guys at the club who have them and struggle with them when there not swinging great, but won't swap to something more forgiving.

I'm not 100% convinced the 910 range of drivers, especially the D2, is as difficult to hit as previous models.

But I guess only time will tell :D
