Market Rasen and District Golf Club LN8 3DZ
The forecast was perfick for golf, the course was quiet so myself and Jan headed up the road to Market Rasen GC for a quick 18 yesterday about 4pm.
It was lovely.
Situated about 15 miles north east of Lincoln (up the A46) it nestles among some beautiful countryside not unlike Woodhall Spa.
Fortunately, it's not as long at just over 6,000yds but boy is it tight.
It has a nice gentle starting holes at about 440yds uphill with trees flanking both sides of the fairway. The rest of the front 9 doesn't get any wider untill you get to the 11, 12 and 13th. These are a bit more open.

The 14th sees you back into the trees starting with a 190yds par3, followed by the 15th par 5
Just behind the 15th is a tree I believe Smiffy planted
The 16th and 17th are a bit more open tree-wise although the landing area on the 17th is a bit small
The last hole is a par3 of around 180/190yds with tight OOB trees right, clubhouse and audience left and a hoooooge tree guarding the front right of the green.
3 is a good score here, just ask Jan
The clubhouse and facilities are all very good with a putting green, short game area and full sized range, and the members and staff all seem very friendly.
All in all, the course was in good condition and we had a great game out in a warm balmy evening in sunny Lincolnshire.
If you are ever in the area, I suggest you give them a call and go and play it.
