Another good forum meet completed

Don’t believe a word our John amigo Findlay says about Scott and the sombrero thing. J F looked every bit the bandit.....he was my partner as well, sorry John. Scott’s score saved his backside big time. At one point I thought, “he puts up the prizes, he takes em home again”.

Stuart D was a Srixon man, but not any more. In fact I found a new Srixon and offered it to “Stuart no more Srixon D” he was having none of it.

If you think that was bad. Atticus super lag Finch went through a couple or more sleeves of pro vees just practicing for the longest drive at the 18th. It didn’t work.

Very enjoyable.

There's 20 quid I'll never see again.

It got so bad I was nearly down to using a Srixon :o

To be fair TOMO, no-one stipulated that you had to be on the 18th fairway for the longest drive. :o

looks like another great forum day, now officially very excited about the October meet up just along the coast at Craigielaw

J_F great pics and video, cheered me up a treat after a week of low quality golf from me - played 99 holes all told and n the 4 medal rounds failed to make the buffer once so and picked up .4 on my handicap...

I heard about people like you Mike. Getting their handicaps up just before an outing in order to pick up the prizes. And you, a repected member of the golfing community.
What kind of example is that to set?
It's a disgrace ;)

Bit late with this after a miserable weekend.

Thanks very much for organising J_F. It was an excellent day.

Thanks for the video too. Seen my clubface was closed at top of my backswing, so learned something new there.

Also learned that srixon balls are guff :D :D

First time post,
Was asked along with Atticus ( well to drive him there )to the Forum outing on Friday past.
Yes my tee shot on the 1st was as descibed by others.
Played alongside SS2 , madandra and Scott ( playing off a 9 H'CAP !) won the stableford with 41 points with a BIH from JF , I'm sure the handicap system on the south on the Forth Bridge must be different from elsewhere in the country !
Had a good day , looking forward to Craigielaw in October.

Hi Dean, welcome to the Forum.

Scott's golf was an example to us all: he kept it straight and knocked in all the short putts. In fact the only bad shot he hit all day was a shank (am I allowed to say that?) at the 12th directly after I mentioned to him how solid his game was.

Could someone explain to myself and probably to the others that were there on Friday at North Berwick , what madandra was up to when using the sachets of condiments from the table in the morning ?

You can never find 4 sachets of the same condiment when you need them! Perhaps the most bizarre way of deciding playing partners ever thunk of by man.

Faldo should adopt a similar approach for the Ryder Cup pairings.

"Serge....Justin....you boys got the Tartare Sauce... you're off third"

TOMO,

you know fine well that it's "red sauce, broon sauce, tartare sauce then vinegar"

It's one of the condimental laws of physics.

Obviously Faldo's gonna have to bring in the other 8 minor condiments or their derivatives for the singles order on Sunday.. but that's his problem, not mine. I wouldn't have that captain's job for love nor money.

John,

you're in the East, should the broon sauce not have gone first?

I bet they organise the draw for The Open at Troon and at Turnberry by putting the vinegar first, after all it's that east/west descimination Salt and Sauce or Salt and Vinegar.

Hey don't include all the east coast. In Fife we were always salt and vinegar. Its only you Edinburgh folk are salt and sauce. It's just not right!!!!

Good to see the sense of hummor is still alive and flourishing.
Sounds like a very enjoyable day was had by all, even the God's liquid sunshine did not dampen the hillarity.
Can you put some names to the 2 photo's of the groups so we can know who not to ask for a game. [ha ha]
Will be comming up that way next May 17-19 Linden Hall and then onto Dundee if another meet is on the cards.
