Evening chaps,

Just home from our Forum meet at Glen Golf Club in North Berwick and good fun it was too.

12 arrived and 12 got wet in inclement conditions on the East Coast but hopefully everyone had fun in spite of the early rain. It was good to put a few more faces to names too.

Never believe a weather forecaster. This was meant to be sunshine;-

This is TOMO21 at the 1st

A wee stableford was played and prizes went to nearest the pin and longest drive too. So it's a big shout out to Madandra for a cracking 5 iron to 6 feet for nearest the pin on the 207 yard 9th and to SS2 for longest drive on the last. Well done lads and well deserved.

My pal Scott, who I foolishly invited along and who I'll never speak to again, took the stableford prize with 41 points, playing off 9.

He scored gross 38 on the front nine, 36 on the back nine to match my own 74 (36 front, 38 back) to win unashamedly with the better inward half after I thought it was in the bag. Friends, eh? Wear a sombrero next time, Scott.

TOMO21 came a deserved 3rd with a gross 77 (36 points), playing off 7.

A mention too for a cracking round by Frasting (gross 75) for 34 points off 3. Well played everyone.

Thoroughly good fun once again. Thanks to all for donating prizes and being such good company and hopefully we'll all meet up again at the Craigielaw Outing on 24th October. As this is my home course I promise to have a howler!

Oh, DCB's prize of a bottle of whisky for the worst score on the signature hole (a par 3) went unclaimed. Amazingly the worst score between the 12 of us was a 4. A hard school this.

I've got a bit of video from the day and will post it once it uploads. Cheers

:D :D

Pfft, call that wet? Sure you can still see the sea from there! Glad you enjoyed yourselves, sounds like a high scoring day was had by all!

Just a wee bit damp. Preferred lies and no wind to speak of helped.

That was quick, here's the video in full, glorious technicolour. Needless to say, it's mostly footage of the fourball between myself and TOMO21 and Atticus-Finch and StuartD. We'll have to find a way of getting everyone in for next time.

If that doesn't work then try this and go to the movie;-

Cracking round up JF....as ever!

Can't believe nobody found the sea/beach at the 13th (?).....and then nothing worse than a 4! There must be something in the Scottish Water.

There are some great scores in there.......nice one, everyone.

Dave, frankly amazing that 4 was the worst score between 12 of us at the 13th. A 6 is usually guaranteed in any fourball.

(I did fly the green into the hazard (the Firth of Forth) with a lovely skulled 9 iron but the gods were with me today.) However, I have purloined DCB's bottle of whisky as a 2nd prize and am happily sampling same in his honour.

The only other photo I got was of Atticus. He boomed this one miles past us all. Look at that lag!

Whoaah. Good photos, guys.

Is it not a bit of a worry that PsychoJoe smiles like that?

And we'll never be able to slag the K1 Speed driver again. That's Scott wielding one on the 12th tee for his 41 points!

What's happening with Dean's tee shot at the 1st? Was there a flopshot contest going on that I didn't hear about?

Atticus "proforce V2" lag man.....

That's quite a photo!

John managed to catch one of my very few decent shots there.
I had a bad day to say the least!
It in no way spoiled my enjoyment of the day though.
well done again John for the organizing, and well done Scott for winning the thing. Although J_F did play some sensational golf (to the anguish of TOMO21 who asked to see John's certificate at one point I believe.)

I'll be asking to see TOMO21's birth certificate next time! Can't believe he's a senior at Royal Musselburgh.

If he's asking his own team-mate "What d'you mean you get another f****** stroke?" ...how hard is he going to be to beat at matchplay??!! :D :D

Deans tee shot landed 12 feet infront of him after going 200ft high.

;) ;)

Well, I was playing in the same group and the above is wholly wrong. The ball went at least 300ft up.

Shot of the Day definitely Madandra's "hooded" 4-iron to the ninth.

An excellent day out (thanks for organising J_F).

Hi guys, thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Glen. The scenery was spectacular, the course lovely, and the company excellent.

I was pleased with how I played and thought I was in with a shout, only to discover Mr Findlay was level par at the turn playing off 9.... damn it!

Can't wait for Craigilaw in October.
