annoyed that someone played an away day on my gui number

Anyone could walk in and play once they have another players number. If a card had to be produced no matter what then the situation you're in would never occur

Yep, don't think the fella even has a hcap, but nowt will change, should def be card produced as standard, no card, no play! But that won't happen. Shame really, as u say would stop this kind of thing happening.

I would not be able to let it go, these people have lied and cheated and put you in a difficult position. I would have to stand up against it no matter how unpopular it made me. I would have thought that people in NI would be fair mined enough to label this behaviour as unacceptable.

Sometimes I wish I could give someone else credit for the 0.1 returns on my handicap. Either way the club should sort it out and give you the correct handicap. Or if you shoot a score in your next comp that would be an 0.1 ask the handicap sec to allow you to enter a score that would hit the buffer and voila. Balance restored.

They never rang, I only found out by accident 5 days later, then seen the .1 ysterday. I would have said no, but the numbers are posted in the club so can only assume they got it from there, or somehow knew it.

I seem to remember that, when CDH started to be used in England, EGU issued a directive that the list of CDH numbers should not be posted on noticeboards.

Hmmm, someone clearly had thoughts on this well before the day, otherwise how would they know your number? Not the sort of thing people remember, surely. The premeditated thought of noting down your number is what would annoy me.

I'd be kicking up a stink, but I can see your point of view.

could have been worse he could have shot 10 under!!

i would have said no when they rang you tbh.

its a tricky one but its only point 0.1 at the end of the day

its Not realy about the 0.1 tho Patrick , what gives someone the right to do that ? nothing , thats what ..
you mean to tell me if some guy at your club stole your number & went & played away days on it , youd be ok with that?? , id be fuming man , id be reporting the guy over the society to the club & if i wasnt happy with that id be going to the GUI ..

JT is better than me , i couldnt let that go ..

our GUI number is made up of 8 numbers like 1234 5678 the 1st 4 are your club so all our members have that number the 2nd 4 are your indentity , someone was sneaky enough to take JT number & sneak off & play a comp as him ... thats low , very very low in my opinion

Thanks bp but I wouldn't say better than you at all, just different.
One of the fellas that helps run the society is not back from hols til today so hoping to speak with him tomo, I would consider him a friend so will see what he says, the other chap, not so much, but wait to find out more in the next day or two.
If the .1 can somehow be removed then provided it never happens again I'll let it go.

I had a similar thing happen a few years ago, someone!!!! phoned my old club and said they where me and needed a h/c cert for an upcoming away comp. sec duly put one in a envelope and put on members notice board, never found out who used it or where but what would have happened if they had done somthing bad who's name would have been mud?

i misread the OP, id be hopping mad, that is just not on!

just use the 0.1 as an incentive next round and get a bigger cut.

0.1 is sod all in the grand scheme of things but as stated its the principle that matters. Good luck (get the smileys back GM grrrr)
