Andy Murray wins 1st title since return

Can't warm to him. No idea why. Just can't. All this big 4 rubbish doesn't help. It's Feds, Nadal, gap, Djokovic, and then the rest. Again, not his fault, but it's like not liking Tiger because of the media hype.

I'm not sure about the gap to Djokovic?? By the time he retires Djokovic is quite likely to be the one with the most majors.

I tend to agree that Novak will surpass them, for time thought he haad the easier run. By that i mean he didn't play the other two in their peaks quite as often. Ages aside, Rafa and Fed were at there best and competing for all the titles, Novak stepped up as those two hit a decline.

That being said, when mentioning the top 4, for me it would be:
Rafa/Fed

Novak

Murray

Rafa is 33 and Novak 32. Hardly missed Rafa at his peak. Rafa won French 12 times, the other three majors seven. Clay is a rubbish service to play on, and a freebie for Rafa !! Novak is a better all round player, and if he stays fit I think he will beat Rafa and Roger’s record.

Roger the best for me, and easily the best to watch. True artist, in an age of strength and power. Enjoy watching Novak, but Rafa is a real turn off.

Good to see him back after his injuries but I am still not sure he'll ever get back to the top level of the game and compete in grand slam finals. Like a lot of players in a lot of sports, he'll definitely be competitive and have good weeks but surely the toll of injury and getting back to fitness has to have an effect? You can only beat those in front of you and todays opponent is an excellent player but the field wasn't really a stellar one

To me, ranking is Djokovic; Nadal; Federer then a gap - to Murray when he was at his peak, but any of several currently.

For 'pleasure to watch', it has always been Federer, Djokovic, then Nadal/Murray. Can't warm to Nadal's OCD-ish habits (he actually drags me into them as I find myself counting his bounces and 'adjustments'!) and, for me, His game is 'made for clay', thus his dominance on that surface, but he's ultra-competitive an any surface! Murray just lacks a little 'something' on court! Still great to watch though and certainly committed!

I'd love to see Murray competing at the very top again!

I don’t think their ages necessarily mean they peaked at the same time. It’s not as simple as that. Rafa and fed both were better when young and faced one another. Djokovics dominance came as there levels dropped. I still think he’ll beat bight their totals mind.

I just love watching Feds, he personifies graceful, skillful tennis as I would like to play it.

Nadal and Djokovic play great tennis, but it is an uglier version of it. Effective, yes, but not pretty. My other favourites were McEnroe, Stich, Ivanisovich, all players with a superb one handed back hand. I like a classic one handed back hand. None of this new fangled rubbish.

Can’t really agree. Rafa won his first non French major in 2008. Novak won his first in 2008. Their careers have overlapped in all but the French which Rafa won at a young age, but also well into his 30’s. Rafa is just not as good in non French majors as Novak and Roger. All have had major injuries and have come back to win again. Could only agree if you think Rafa peaked at 21 and has been on the decline ever since !!

Novak also has a winning record against Rafa and Roger over something like 13 years. Can you be the best ever with a losing record over 13 years against another player ? Just asking.:unsure:;):)

Many said that Tiger would never win another major. Don’t discount Murray yet.
