a 0.1 increase, which puts me on 19.5 (20), hit the ball pretty well, hit a lot of decent pitches but couldnt work out the pace of the greens, far far too many 3 putts, managed to find a few lies right behind trees too which didnt help, still things can only get better.

Knowing how far you came last year I am sure it is a temporary blip. I couldn't get the pace of the greens over Easter and they were much quicker than I expected. I had the first 4 putt in memory on one hole

Im finding putting difficult at the moment too despite it usually being strong! Hoping its because the greens everywhere ive played are just a little bobbly while they are getting ready for the full season.

First chance of a qualifier for me is 20th April  Sick of waiting! Im sure i will restore your full shot advantage in our challenge that day

I really struggled with my putter last time out and had probably the worst putting performance of my life, ask Hovis LOL I could of shot my PB on the Derby if the putter had of been even decent. Spiked greens didn't help but most of it was still down to me.

I got my first hanicap change of the season today - a 2.9 cut! I won the midweek stableford in style so I have gone from 20.3 to 17.4, Saturday's medal should be interesting.

Another one struggling with the putter. I was putting great until about 3 weeks ago but it's deserted me and I've lost all confidence. I've gone from expecting to hole everything to expecting to hole nothing almost overnight. Stableford tomorrow so we'll see.

0.1 for me too

I blame the freezing temperatures meaning I have fluidity to my swing, and the dreadful aeration holes we still have because the temperature is not high enough

.... So basically the weather is the problem, not me :)

I know the feeling Louise , keep telling myself it will get better .. guess what ?

3 x .1 & 1 buffer from 4 comps , on 7.4 now with medal tomorrow so playing handicap of 8 seems likely :( :(

@alldownhill well done, keep up the good work

I feel your pain, Louise. I finished last year on 7.4 so going up to 8 at the first medal has been a real possibility all winter. That's tomorrow - would love to come in under handicap an get a bit of breathing space in there again but my swing has changed a fair bit over the winter and I have no idea how it'll hold together under pressure!
