Its the one club I have a serious problem with and think should be banned. The anchoring is the part that is wrong and it stops it being a swing imo. That said theyve had enough chance to ban them and clearly arent going to, I expect in 10-15 years time a 33-35" putter is the exception rather than the norm

I don't think I'd ever have one because I have an issue with the fact it can be anchored to the body. I know it's in the rules so don't want to get into that argument but I can't agree with it.

On top of that, it would look stupid poking so far out of my bag and wouldn't fit in the car boot.

They're not for me but for no other reason that I am determined NOT to let putting get in my head rather than just stand there and feel the putt required and hit it. I was having a few rounds where I lost my touch a bit but through that still avoided getting all stressy and cluttering my head with equipment and technique. I had 2 thorough lessons on putting, I have a routine which is repeatable and if I keep out of my own way (a la Dr Bob) then I can putt

I had a Wilson tall black one years ago for about 2-3 years. It was great for longs putts, but I started missing too many of the 2-3 footers.

I also couldn't be arsed taking it out of the boot, and I had 2 nicked in that 2-3 years so left it then.

I'm a putting "traditionalist" so they don't appeal to me and wouldn't consider using one.

I also have no issues with people that use them. Golf is a highly individual game so if it workd for you, use it!

The problem with his belly putter is as Christmas gets nearer and nearer and he keeps eating more and more food, he has to keep cutting an inch off it each week

Personally can't stand them, and with all the rules regarding drivers, wedges etc surprised they were ever allowed in the first place, or at least banned before it was too late to do so.
:blah:

Metal woods, hybrids, graphite shafts, titanium, movable weight technology, new groove rules, gps, lasers etc etc.

Get over it and move with the times. Hickory shafts are soooooooooooooooooo yesterday!

I own a long putter and I also own a belly putter, ther latter gets a fair few outings a year. The long putter would too if it wasn't an old peice of junk!

Toying with the idea of a new belly/long putter at present.

Personally I just enjoy mixing things up abit. I don't consider myself a bad putter but wouldn't say I'm great either.

Ill bet that setup can get Radio Luxembourg. :D

Is that set up for finding water or oil in the desert ?

Seriously, this game is hard enough at the best of times anything thats makes it easier or enjoyable whats the problem with using one , at the end of the day we have jobs and play this game as a hobby.

I've never tried one but a mate of mine uses one he play of 4 and is a fantastic striker of a ball but has problems with his putting he now swears by his it give him confidence now
