To be honest. It's what was worrying me. I'm sure that I've heard of cheques being stopped just as they are cleared. The money shows in your account, then it comes back out. Can't remember where I read it though.

Most banks are insisting on 5 days to clear cheques so point this out if they choose this method to pay.
Also watch for PayPal echeque these show as a PayPal payment but pending can take 7 days to clear.

This CAN happen, MY bank (Nationwide B. Soc.) have told me such

As THEY clear cheques into MY account after 3 working days of being deposited ( or did ) and the cheque does NOT clear properly until MY bank presents cheque and details back to the buyers bank, it can 'BOUNCE' within this time frame

So I always said I required 7 WORKING DAYS for clearance before posting goods
